Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Fletcher.
Hi Ana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Creativity, independent thinking, and exploring have always been a part of me. I didn’t have much of a plan for how I got where I am today; instead I just let life do its thing and I guess my choices led me here! I always imagined my future self producing creative work, but when I was younger I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do or how I was going to do it. I knew I wanted to keep those three things (creativity, independent thinking, and exploring) with me at all times though. And it worked out; it’s still working out! From customizing my own MySpace page to teaching English abroad, those three things never failed me. And now I’m here and it rules.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It depends on how you look at that road haha! Of course there have been struggles, and there’s more to come. But I see them more as lessons, or gaining experience rather than a roadblock. If it does seem like a roadblock, find a detour. There’s always a way!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a photographer! But most of my work comes from utilizing Photoshop and mixed media. I love diving into surrealism and creating a weird little world.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
What helps me do my best is the people I surround my self with, the people I look up to, and myself. Don’t get me wrong: I love a good podcast and reliable self help book. But you get to discuss and practice what you learn from those resources with your people/ community and on your own. It takes it further and helps even more. Reading, listening, getting inspired is a wonderful place to start. But taking action is what makes you grow!
