Meet Amoraa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amoraa.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Music has always been one of the most important things in life. It is my happy place, it is my home. It got me through every situation and hardship so singing was something that came naturally to me.

However, I didn’t take it seriously until I graduated from Texas State University. I realized that the only thing I looked forward to in my new adult life was making music. So, I did what any 21-year-old would do, I packed my bags and moved to LA. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I also knew it wasn’t going to be impossible.

Now, a year later, I am singing, songwriting, working on an album, joint EP with another one of my talented friends Nayome and will also soon be performing in LA and surrounding areas. I also recently released my single “Sort Out” that is on every music platform!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey surely hasn’t been easy but if you are committed to what you want, anything is possible. I think my biggest challenge has been budgeting-wisely and dedicating time to making music. Everyone knows nothing is cheap, especially not things that are worth-it so I’m always making sure I budget correctly. I spend most of my spare-time (which is only a few hours in the day) writing, creating and singing.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a singer. My goal is to inspire others and make them feel like they are not alone in this world. I hope I’m not getting carried away by saying this but I hope to feel like someone’s safe place. My music should feel like a home away from home. I want to be someone’s emotion. I want someone’s emptiness to be fulfilled with my music.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
One of the most important qualities to carry within this industry is dedication. Without dedication, I would not have been able to make it this far. Dedication is what will set me apart from everyone else and is what will lead me to my biggest goal.
