Today we’d like to introduce you to Amelia Hall.
Hi Amelia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My path to becoming a licensed trauma therapist reflects a journey shaped by curiosity and a search for meaning. I’ve always been someone who asks big questions and is deeply moved by the arts as an expression of soul. As a pre-teen, I followed a nudge to begin exploring healing beyond the western medical model. At the time, my family was navigating illness and hardship, and I was drawn to frameworks that addressed not only physical, but the mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of healing.
Many years later I was inspired to move cross-country to San Francisco, where I completed my master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies, known for it’s East-meets-West, integral approach that bridges spirituality, healing arts, and social justice. I found a true sense of purpose in becoming a therapist as I noticed how time spent with clients helped catalyze meaningful change in their lives. I’m passionate about working with highly sensitive creatives to support them in reclaiming the wholeness of who they are.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Watching my dad’s health deteriorate over time without knowing why was incredibly difficult for me growing up. It wasn’t until much later that we discovered his condition was linked to water contamination — a realization that brought both clarity and heartbreak. This further opened my eyes to the way systems tragically fail the very people who serve them, highlighting the urgent need for systemic justice of all forms, environmental included.
Living through uncertainty and loss taught me how to hold space for suffering — without rushing to fix or minimize it. This deeply motivates my work as a trauma therapist: to serve with the same compassion and attuned presence I needed in my own journey. Shame dies when stories are told in safe spaces, as they say. My goal is to ensure that everyone I work with feels held, understood, and empowered to reclaim their wholeness despite everything that did not go as planned in their lives.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer holistic trauma therapy that honors the body’s innate capacity to heal and helps clients get to the root of what’s been holding them back. I specialize in supporting highly sensitive, neurodivergent creatives as they navigate identity, grief, life transitions, and both complex and intergenerational trauma.
My approach draws from traditional psychodynamic therapy, somatic mindfulness, EMDR, and parts work. I’m also trained in expressive arts and eco-therapy, and I integrate these modalities when appropriate to deepen the healing process.
I work in tune with each client’s natural rhythm—understanding that healing happens in its own time. My role is to honor that pace and support the process of reconnecting with the wisdom that already lives within. Together, we explore underlying emotions, patterns, and experiences, making space for new insights and meaningful growth to emerge. If you’re looking for a therapeutic partnership that truly understands your sensitivity, creativity, and unique path, I welcome you to reach out for a free consultation.
What matters most to you? Why?
I’m deeply inspired by wisdom traditions that gently call us back into balance. A line from the Tao Te Ching captures this beautifully: “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” It speaks to what feels most essential to me these days—honoring the natural rhythms of life, embracing the ebb and flow, and allowing things to unfold in their own time. In a culture that glorifies instant gratification and endless self-optimization, I’m passionate about creating spaces to slow down, soften, and remember our wholeness—right here, right now, just as we are.
A deep commitment to creative expression and integrity shapes how I move through the world—both within and beyond the therapy room. I’m nourished when I spend time in wild places and connecting with fellow healers and creatives. My passions include exploring the beauty of nature, photography, dance/movement and yoga. I’m also inspired by travel and the richness of learning from diverse traditions and ways of life. Looking ahead, I hope to one day open an integrative healing arts space: a sanctuary in nature for community, creativity, and connection that supports overall well-being.
