Meet Amber Murdock of One Safe World Security Systems

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Murdock.

Amber, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The unification of becoming my own boss while pursuing a modeling career has helped me to define myself as a ”Model-Preneur”. Striving for success in the midst of busy streets such as Los Angeles was by far no stranger to me. I grew up on the west side of Chicago where there was always two sides to every story. Aside from the genuine love I was blessed to be around in my household, the streets of my environment were poverty-stricken and played a huge role in why I sought out change, remotion, and the industries I have come to be involved in.

My love and passion for being an entrepreneur developed at a young age. My parents also pushed me towards the pursuit of entrepreneurial endeavors. By the age of seven years old, my younger sister and I started our own candy store which we sold candies to majority of our family members. Transitioning into high school was very interesting for me. I was a huge tomboy (played almost every sport you can think of) and then I joined the fashion club. My liking for sewing dresses just didn’t make the cut anymore (no pun intended haha). I discovered a love for modeling the pieces instead. Eventually, I enrolled as an undergraduate at Western Michigan University with a major in Business Administration and a double minor in Real Estate and Mandarin Chinese. The real grind started then.

Being on the grind means not being afraid to go after your dreams even when you’re uncomfortable or out of your element. It’s a constant race with yourself and re-arrangement of your plans on your way there. The difference between success and ‘being on the grind’…the grind never stops. Not only did I take a break from college to pursue my dreams, but I’ve done odd jobs like shoveling snow for 12 hours straight & working as a security officer at one of the most dangerous facilities in the world (not the brightest idea) just to save up for travels regarding model portfolio building and the expansion of my business. Although my family had my back 110%, I refused to take a handout. This is the point in my life where my modeling career and business company converged.

As a runway model, I quickly realized the importance of safety. There this unspoken terror of kidnappings after fashion shows, being stalked, and hidden cameras found in dressing rooms. I wanted to combat that. Thus, the launching of my business arose. I was also no stranger to gun violence, kidnappings, and sexual harassment considering where I grew up and it being all too common. Therefore, it was impossible to deny the inevitable truth that I must stay safe at all times (especially as a woman in the eyes of those who prey on vulnerability).

Modeling is a creative outlet for me to inspire. I’m a freelance professional & published model (also known as the “Runway Assassin”). Since then, I’ve walked in several runway shows during New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and soon Thailand at the end of this month. Ultimately, I want to build the bridge to fill the gap of cultural distances we face every day worldwide while honing in on my entrepreneurial endeavors. I am truly humbled to be CEO and founder of 1 Safe World Security Systems LLC (online website established in 2015). www.1safeworld.net

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’d honestly be scared if my road to success were smooth because that would mean that I’m not learning or growing. I have been faced with detours, disappointments, and depression at some point on this journey. The key is to not give up. Back in 2014, my cousin lost her life to sexual assault and this heinous crime triggered another spark in me to launch One Safe World Security Systems a year later. Not to mention the overall struggle to be consistent in my craft and that is something any entrepreneur can attest to as well. It requires intentional pursuit, productive execution, and a whole lot of faith. I remember sitting at my mother’s living room table asking her and my dad ‘am I doing the right thing?”…”Is this a part of my purpose?” They smiled at me and said, “only you can answer that..and I think you already have.” This was a critical and defining moment for the further launch of One Safe World. My family instilled in me how our outlook on life begins with faith and hard work. It’s shown me to rise above my self inhibitions and embrace womanhood while ripping the roof off of all limitations. This is my legacy.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the One Safe World Security Systems story. Tell us more about the business.
One Safe World is dedicated to protecting people, their privacy, and their property. Not only do we take safety very seriously, but our self-defense products and approach are unparallel to any other company out there. We make everything affordable and shipping a breeze. Although we specialize in providing safety products in various age ranges, ultimately women have been our primary consumers. It is our job to make sure that women know like ‘hey’ it’s okay to defend yourself.. it’s okay to make sure you’re comfortable enough to walk down the street to your local grocery store and not have to suffer from harassment. A philosophy I love to live by is ‘our perception is our reality’.

With that being said, I wanted to make sure that One Safe World Security Systems portrayed safety from various angles. Yes, we have products ranging from child safety to household protection precautions. Our most popular products are the diversion safes, pepper sprays, and state-of-the-art hidden camera finders. In addition to what we offer, is that we have an affiliate program where customers are able to do direct business with us and earn some extra income while doing so. If you’re interested in that, the best way would be to communicate with us via email or through our Instagram Page @1safeworld I’m extremely proud of our most recent collaboration (contract-deal) with a major brand that will take One Safe World to the next level. So stay tuned!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. However, I do believe in timing. Coming into this world with my eyes wide shut, you soon see life becomes a masterpiece when you learn to master peace. The previous hardships of mine had a factor in my current success in the business. Had it not been there. I don’t know what One Safe World would look like or if it’d even exist.

I feel as though my current business venture is set in alignment to encourage the initiation of my long term goal of launching a modeling company. It would be for women and young girls who have been faced with adversities but never gave up because their dream and drive prevail. Alexander once said, “When a flower doesn’t bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower. To that I say: Women, you are rare, you are beautiful, you are enough.
