Meet Amanda Deming of Inside Out Mobile Spa in Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Deming.

Amanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2004 I moved to LA from Warren Pennsylvania hoping to make a difference with my life. Close friends always asked me for massages and the relief that it brought them lit a fire inside of me. I realized that my life path was to help heal people with my hands, so I enrolled in the top massage school called National Holistic Institute in Encino CA. I graduated in 2007 and I have well over 2000 hrs. of education ranging from Eastern Modalities such as Reflexology, Cupping, Acupressure and Thai Massage, to Western Modalities such as Therapeutic deep tissue, Myofacial release, Pregnancy Massage, and the list goes on.

After Massage school I continued my education on healing. I wanted to reach deeper than just the physical touch. After much research I became certified as a Raw Food Chef. Food is the life force for our bodies and it is important that we nourish ourselves with high vibrational foods. Once we start that process through nutrition, our bodies begin to heal immediately.

I also became a Certified Kundalini Yoga teacher. Another amazing way to help heal our bodies is through breath work, exercise, and self-care. Stress and negative thoughts effect every cell in our body so we have to learn to control the negative and invite the positive thoughts. In order to control the mind, we first must learn to control the breath.
I then continued to focus on Prenatal and Postnatal Massage and knowing the miracle of birth, I became a Doula. Mothers deserve to be pampered during their pregnancy and empowered during their labor. Holding the space for the mother and easing her mind and pain during the incredible moment of birth, is powerfully healing.

I couldn’t stop there, I also became a Reiki Healer. Working with light and body energy can help align the chakras, ease pain, and create a deep state of relaxation. Healing begins when the body releases blockages that it’s been holding on to energetically for years.

About 5 yrs. ago the concept of Inside Out Mobile Spa came to me while I was in deep meditation. I immediately created my mobile spa business and within 6 months I was up and running. Since then I have organically grown and now have a team of 6 amazing massage therapists as well as a Pilates teacher, an acupuncturist, and an esthetician.
I am continually growing and learning new ways to help heal the world!

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a pretty smooth road so far. At first I wanted to clone myself as I didn’t have enough hands to accommodate all of my clients but as my team began to grow, I didn’t have much of a problem.

Last year I was in a bad car accident and broke my arm in several places and needed surgery. I still had massage requests pouring in but for 3 months while I was recovering, my team stepped up to the plate and helped my business thrive.
