Meet Alyshia Barragan Owner of MaxxModels and Ring girl of Combate Americas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyshia Barragan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alyshia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I first started working as an assistant for a few companies since I was 19, at the age of 21 I gave birth to my son who is now almost five years old. I wanted to spend more time with my family and watch him grow and be there for him instead of spending all my days at an office. I was always curious to see Models and Brand Ambassadors at events so I decided to do some research and give it a shot. I started working for Bud Light, Miller Hornitos and other liquor companies as a brand ambassador. At the age of 23, I was going through a tough time with my ex-husband and moved back home with my family in Riverside, CA. I realized that I wanted more to life and I wanted to feel happy with the careers that I have and that I needed to continue to grow. Once my marriage was over I felt free, free from feeling controlled and free from doing what I wanted to do.

I began booking myself for music videos in Los Angeles as a background model. I knew that there would be sacrifices I would need to make to become someone different from the rest. My family at the time didn’t understand the things that I wanted to do but they still were always there for me and my son. All I can do was prove to them that I knew what I was doing and that it would take time. While I was working as a model for music videos I was able to meet so many amazing people throughout my journey such as Artist, producers, directors, and other models. I realize that I wasn’t the only Model that was struggling, each model I met had a different story to tell and I knew that something had to change. I’ve been in over 65+ music videos and modeled for clothing companies. I continued to stay positive and keep my hopes up, I constantly applied myself to jobs to find the next paycheck. At 25 I was signed by Toyo tires as 1 of 3 models for 2018.

I was able to travel around the US and attend events while signing posters for my fans. I felt extremely happy but still didn’t feel complete. I still wanted to do more, I wanted to create something to help my friends and other models find work more easily so I created MaxxModels LLC a model Agency for independent models to find work and help other models find work. It makes me happy to know that All our models are able to create new friends and grow. Now at 26, I got signed by Combate Americas MMA Company as the very first ring girl ever to be signed and feel truly blessed. They are focused on representing the Latino community and help women fighters stand out more than ever. I’m going to continue to make myself grow and also expand MaxxModels LLC.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There was many obstacles on the way but I always stay positive, as a model people book you for your looks not personality. I know I’m not the most beautiful girl in the world but my personality is what shines. Same goes for my company there are many different agencies but what makes us different is that we are all unique. Always believe in yourself.

Please tell us about MaxxModels LLC.
With my company we have models who have never modeled before, we have mothers and hard-working women who are motivated. I look for girls who have potential and have amazing personality’s. What makes us different is that we are an all-women company who promote Women Empowerment.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory was always family parties, I loved to be around people who cared for me while listening to music and eating delicious food. I loved to see other people happy.
