Meet Alphonso Reed of ARPR Agency in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alphonso Reed.

Alphonso, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My career in public relations started back in 2008. I was working as a retail store manager and longing for more than just handling operations for a store. Every day I would do research about potent people in the entertainment and fashion industry, in order to retain enough information about how they became a success story.

My research leads me to work at Karla Otto and KCD Worldwide, which are two of the top fashion public relations agencies in the world. These opportunities gave me an extensive understanding of fashion, entertainment, luxury, and lifestyle business.

During my time working in PR, I noticed that there were a lot of Talents who were underrepresented in the industry and that is how ARPR Agency came about. We have had the pleasure of working with everyone from Kevin Hart, Christina Milian, Young Thug, Keke Palmer and the first Modest Fashion Week in the United States, Miami Modest Fashion Week to name a few.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road and it continues to be a journey full of roadblocks and detours.

With that being said, in the Entertainment/Fashion industry you are only as good as your last accomplishment. It is very important to be focused and utilize your team to come up with innovative ways to market your clients and help them make their wildest dreams a reality.

My challenges are what sets me apart from the rest and give me a unique story to motivate and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. We will continue to overcome the difficulties we face on a daily basis and are excited about the future for ARPR Agency.

ARPR Agency – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I run a public relations, management, and creative services company. We represent a vast amount of clients from Recording Artist, Actors, Athletes, Models, Stylist, Television Shows, Miami Modest Fashion Week, Miami Fashion Film Festival, Art Exhibitions, and the list goes on.

What sets ARPR Agency apart from the rest is our ability to execute flawless PR/Marketing strategies, while offering value beyond our client’s expectations.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Some of the qualities/characteristics I believe every Publicist should have is experience, with a strong proven track record of successes, authenticity, a sense of urgency, professionalism, determination, being trustworthy, and great follow up skills.
