Co-Founders Ali Vaughan and Brittney Ben Moshe started StyleLab to bring the luxury of personal wardrobe styling into everyday lives. StyleLab is designed to easily and affordably connect stylists to men and women looking for a creative eye. Our goal is to instill confidence in our clients by helping them feel good in the clothes they wear. Nothing pleases us more than seeing the transformation that takes place when someone feels empowered by style.
The story of StyleLab goes back to when we met studying at the University of Southern California. We quickly learned that we share a love for the fashion industry, business, and empowering women. As our careers developed, we found ourselves working for new companies, learning the ins and out of starting a business. It was a year of vacations, weddings, events, and consistently seeking style insight when we realized how helpful it would be to have access to a wardrobe stylist. We thought by creating a platform that connects freelance stylists, we could bring a luxury of personal styling into the lives of everyday men and women.
Has it been a smooth road?
Every road has bumps and turns along the way. We have definitely made mistakes and we try to recover quickly. Other than a small Kickstarter campaign with family and friends, we haven’t taken on investors. Learning how to operate on a lean budget has been an important challenge. We’ve had to get very creative with how we spend our money and at the same time promote upward growth. We’ve learned to always trust your gut and if it turns out to be wrong, just pivot and keep pushing forward.

We’ve got it all! Whether you are looking for help with your existing wardrobe or shopping for new looks – we cater to all budgets, shapes, sizes and genders. We love pairing items from Zara and H&M with designer or luxury items. Our most popular service is The Closet- we will help you purge, reorganize, identify missing pieces and style you from your existing wardrobe. This is a great way to repurpose what you already have.
We also offer The Virtual styling service which is a quick fix – new summer looks, or what to wear to a wedding next weekend. We’ll create a custom virtual lookbook for you to shop from online. Life is busy and you don’t have time to worry about what to wear or how to wear it.
Confidence is a key player in finding success in many areas of life and if we can help people by building confidence and eliminating the stress off getting ready – amazing. It’s really cool to see the transformation when someone feels good in what they are wearing.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love all the different pockets of LA. There are always new places to explore. We just wish it was all a bit closer together and easier to get from one side of town to the other. We’re still waiting for that Jetson life where we can just jump in our bubble and jet from Weho to Venice in seconds.
