Meet Alex Warschauer of Alex W Photography in West LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Warschauer.

Alex, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My start with photography started early on when I was just in high school. I first got my feet wet when I took black and white film and joined yearbook. After high school, I went up to the Bay Area where I received my BA with a concentration in photography. It was there that I met my mentor and began the long journey to becoming a destination wedding photographer.

I’ve now been shooting weddings for the past 11 years and have traveled to Italy, Greece, Hong Kong, Hawaii, and Mexico doing so.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No road to success is ever straight or easy-there are many bumps along the way. But it certainly is worth it. Over the years, I’ve been thrown all kinds of challenges from logistical nightmares to creative ruts. Being new in a creative industry poses challenges like how to stand out in a saturated market and

This year alone, with COVID being thrown into the mix has certainly brought new business challenges like rescheduling ten months of work from my calendar year into the next.

Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about you and your career so far?
Alex W Photography is a boutique photography studio based in Los Angeles that provides destination wedding and portrait photography all around the world. We are a hybrid photography company meaning we photograph in both film and digital mediums.

We provide an editorial aesthetic to our clients and strive to make the experience of working with us personal, fun, and memorable.

We take on a limited number of clients annually to ensure that each couple we work with receives the absolute best, hands-on service.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
As the saying goes, “Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.” We have had the fortune of being in the right place at the right time which has opened the door to some incredible opportunities for us. We have had the opportunity to network with individuals in the industry at various parties and events that have been absolutely fantastic with referring work our way and assisting in the growth of the business.
