Meet Alex Lopez of Born Free Cycles in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Lopez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alex. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Born Free Cycles was inspired by a couple of guys and a gal in the motorcycle business who shared a passion for riding. We are certified Harley-Davidson Technicians. As a matter of fact graduates of MMI, the only school that’s recognized by Harley- Davidson. Our factory training is what sets us apart from most aftermarket repair facilities. Born Free Cycles is not just your ordinary garage. We opened in 2011 and have grown into the Valley’s top one-stop motorcycle shop providing an extensive list of parts, services and riding gear by people who love to ride like the owners of the motorcycles we take care of!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When we first opened our doors in 2011 it was just my wife and I. Within a couple of months Master Tech and good friend, Mark Montague, joined our small outfit. With the three of us, we began growing at a quick rate. Bikers were telling other bikers and soon we couldn’t meet the demand quickly enough. Eventually, our shop overcame the challenge of quick growth and now we have a full staff of technicians plus a parts and service advisor to make sure everyone is back on the road as soon as possible.

Please tell us about Born Free Cycles.
Our commitment to our customers is what sets us apart! We get to know the owner of the bike so that we can make sure we are exceeding the needs of the rider. Plus we aren’t married to any brand so we can offer the customer more than just factory line oem. We are one of the largest distributors of the most recognized motorcycle parts dealers. We have access to over 10,000 parts and accessories including the ability to create one of a kind.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, lessons are what make us stronger and the challenge is what we live for!
