Meet Alex Kim of Belgium Waffle Haus in Granada Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Kim.

We would like to invite you to come in and experience our unique Belgium Liege Waffles and Specialty Coffees.

Located in the heart of the Granada Hills Village, we are using real, authentic Pearl Sugar, imported directly from Belgium, to make our famous waffles. It is made here daily, from scratch, using a 17-hour dough fermentation process and baked in our unique cast iron waffle machines. With our unique European inspired decor, you will feel like you are sitting and relaxing in an authentic European Cafe.

Join us and experience a little bit of Europe!

Has it been a smooth road?
The purpose of our concept is to introduce into the public sphere a new culture surrounding Specialty Coffee and unique authentic Liege Waffles. The tools and resources to do this have been provided by the ownership and investors of BWH. Thusly, ownership creates a comfortable working atmosphere for the staff and associates to be a team, which in turn makes for a comfortable sipping and dining experience for all our clientele. Without our teamwork, there would be no way to maintain consistency and provide this comfortable experience.

Having great mindset of our philosophy to staffs were most important ingredients, thus finding greatest assets our staffs were obstacles in the beginning…. But, we have extremely talented resources from professional photographer, singer and waffle creator to be mention few.

It has been a challenge and very rewarding season for all of the members here at BWH, we learn every aspect of our coffee program and quality of our waffles. Every day we keep learning new things to strive for our customers, and seek new opportunities along the way.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Anna (Wife – Executive Chef / Specialty Dessert Creator / Q Grader) and I (Operator / Q Grader) received a European cooking education and about specialty coffee program to become Q graders, which is essentially a licensed judge of coffee. We have a mutual drive to introduce specialty and traditional European style coffee to the public, and deliver this coffee with a European ambiance. Of course, how could we do this without coupling the coffee with its perfect edible match: The Liege Waffle. But, not just any waffle would do.

In the United States, it is difficult to find the distinctive taste of the true Liege Waffle. In the expansion of our idea, Anna and I decided to go straight to the source. BWH waffle is hard to come by because of the imported ingredient: Pearl Sugar from Belgium. This traditional waffle, along with specialty European style coffee, all served under a tranquil European ambiance…that is the foundation of BWH.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is very diverse area with all nationalities from around the world… If you have unique items to any audiences, you should try to deliver!
