Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleah Clark.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Aleah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m never too sure as to how I started what I do, but I do know that everything I liked and everything I really am has catered to the creative I am today. I absolutely love style, I love styling myself and others, I would dress my friends up in my room all the time and there simply came a day that I thought to take a picture of one of the outfits I styled my high school best friend in, from there I started realizing the importance of documenting my creations… then that grew into documenting the beauty she didn’t see in herself, then that grew into wanting to use images to show people what they were overlooking, to help them really pause and give attention to the things they cared nothing for, really shining light on the things in the dark spaces. You could also say my hobby for people watching has played a part in loving to shoot people, and seeing them in different environments, finding their best angles and bringing out the best in all who is in front of my camera. I am quite the overthinker, so I am non stop thinking of things in my head, what to create next, who it would be, where it’d be, how I would shoot it… I more than often create entire shoots in my head on a daily basis.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say for the most part, it’s been smooth. It was a blessing to not go after what I do today. I know a lot of people naturally go after what they want, but I swear this went after me… so it always felt good and not forced and most importantly genuine and I was not dependent on it, it all just happened. When you are forcing a thing and too dependent on it “working” it will show in your work, you’ll find yourself just trying to make a quick buck. I am super glad that this is not about the money to me even thou it is my full financial income, I am thankful that everything literally merged and flowed into this beautiful flowing river that I am riding. The only “struggle”, was becoming a mom in 2017 of one boy named Cairo, then now becoming a mother to three in 2020. When I was a mother to one, not much changed except having a baby strapped to me while I was at my shoots, but when I found out I was having twins thats when I realized that my workflow would definitely change! They are almost 8months now and I’m still trying to figure out how to do it all, but I am indeed doing it! Heeyyyyy

ByAleahClark – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a photographer/videographer. I am known to style most of everything I shoot, I specialize in anything creative! The thing I shoot the most seems to be maternity, I think I just really know how to make women see themselves in a better light, let alone I am a huge advocate with not just embracing your flaws but demanding them to actually be your best assets or making them beautiful. I do not use heavy photoshop or editing, my style of shooting and editing is pretty raw and truthful. I am most proud of my process, I wish to connect on a deeper level with all my clients and take them to a place where their imagination can run free. Others have said that my personality, my eye and creativity sets me apart from others. The way I can take an idea and turn it into this really cool production. Take what’s “ugly” and make it into something great.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment and still is, is being as true as I can to me. My originality, my ideas, my drive and determination. Daily I ask myself how I do all that I do while a wife and mother to three kids 3years old and younger. Wooh, but I am a working mama and can’t wait for all my boys to see what they can do if you are committed and determined.

I always hope to stay true to how I shoot and how I create and not let others higher or even people that I’m inspired by to change my perspective of my creativity because I am enough, I am great just as me. I hope to always always always be me! As much as I recreate myself to be greater, I hope it’s forever tied to my true self. I pray my core values always remain the same because what you believe and how you treat people and the way you are behind closed doors greatly can affect what you create and I just want to always remain true, humble, genuine, and Godly.
