Meet Alayna Magnan of Rabble Rouser Tattoo in Palms

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alayna Magnan.

Alayna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
During my tattoo apprenticeship, I met Paul, who was a tattoo artist crazy enough to let me practice on him. Over the years, we moved on to working in separate shops, started dating, fell in love, got married, and had a baby. Right after my maternity leave, when our little one was 4 months old, we decided to start a business and open our own tattoo studio together.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We opened in 2015, and for most of that first year, the shop was pretty much just our private studio. One of us would work while the other was home with the baby, then we would switch off. As if being first time parents wasn’t challenging enough! We call the shop our second child, and both are currently toddlers!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rabble Rouser Tattoo – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a custom tattoo shop with an artist suited for every style. Our roster if artists are all extremely experienced (most with over 10 years’ experience) Although each of our artists are versatile in all styles, we each excel in a different specialty. We like to say we are “Your friendly neighborhood Mom and Pop tattoo shop” because not only are we literally a Mom and Pop shop, but all of our artists have worked together for years at previous shops and found their way back together at Rabble Rouser. We are a family. And in our shop, everyone is welcome. We like to give new and continuing clients respect, great tattoos, and help them make informed decisions, all with a smile and zero intimidating attitude!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Paul and I are some seriously lucky people! We have each other, our family, our awesome shop and crew, and incredible clients. As much as I would like to thank Lady Luck for all of the awesomeness that my life and dream job have given me, I know that one of the many reasons I love being a tattooer is the direct correlation between what you put in and what you get out. We have worked hard, listened to our clients, studied our craft, practiced and pushed ourselves. And in return, we get to do exactly what we dreamed of in childhood…we are artists! (Doing well on a tattoo competition reality TV show didn’t hurt either!)
