Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Mack.
With a natural talent for selling and a love of numbers, Alan Mack entered the mortgage industry in 1988, and hasn’t looked back since. He’s had a long and successful career working for a variety of companies including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank, New American Funding and now Skyline Home Loans. He’s accomplished things many only dream of, like becoming a member of the Platinum Club with Bank of America, Citiclub with Citibank and staying in the top ten with many companies he’s worked for. He and his teams have funded over 1 billion dollars over his career. Alan has also been honored as being a 5 Star Professional 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2017 as seen in Orange Coast Magazine.
Alan not only has a talent for sales, he is also an effective manager, helping many branches reach the top. While he was at Wells Fargo in Orange County, he built it to be the 2nd most profitable Branch in the entire United States for production. Another accomplishment was bringing Century 21 Beachside to Bank Of America and then later to Citibank. This was one of the top producing franchises in the world. Needless to say, these are just a few of Alan’s many astonishing accomplishments, and he is showing no signs of slowing down. He’s currently Branch Manager at Skyline Home Loans in Lake Forest, California, helping clients achieve their dream of homeownership.
With a team of 10 loan officers focusing on southern California, Skyline is able to offer a variety of loans to meet the unique needs of each individual. From first time homebuyer programs to Jumbo loans and everything in between, those who come to Alan can rest assured they are in the right hands as he educates them throughout the process. “I always want them to know everything that is happening, so they aren’t blind-sided,” he explains.
The majority of his business comes from Realtor referrals and past clients, who trust his ability to go above and beyond expectations. “One of the things that keeps people coming back is my excellent customer service and detail,” Alan explains. “It was really ingrained in my brain to understand that the customer always comes first. The customer will keep coming back again and again if you treat them right.” He is constantly thinking of their needs, and that service extends beyond the customer to his referral agents and loan officers as well.
After working with Alan and his team, glowing reviews are left, and word spreads fast about his talent. One recent agent said, “As a professional Realtor with over 35 years of sales experience in the real estate industry, I take great pride in doing an outstanding job. In order to do an outstanding job, I have to find and work with banking professionals with the highest standards and expertise in their fields. Alan Mack is one of those highly sought after professionals! Alan Mack has all the business attributes, expert knowledge in the mortgage industry and delivers results with highest standards and integrity.” And one client raved, “We have worked with Alan on multiple transactions over the last 5 years and would like to leave a very positive review for anyone considering his services. Every experience has been excellent – smooth, timely and consistent. Alan’s professionalism, attention to detail and ever-present availability are astonishing.”
As Alan continues on in his career, he will no doubt expand his business more than ever before. Truly committed to his work and his clients, he enjoys coming into the office every day. “I love watching my clients get into their dream home, there’s nothing more rewarding.”
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I was doing very well in my career until August 2007 when the Mortgage Industry crashed. I was a Divisional Manager with a very large Mortgage Banker and was subsequently laid off. I was unemployed for over 4 months. I then got a call from a longtime friend who offered me a job with Bank of America (I was formerly employed with them 1990-1995 and was a Platinum Club Producer). I had to start all over again as a Loan Officer and work my way back to the top, I did this the first year and missed making Platinum Club by 2 million dollars and closing over 42 million dollars that year, but I was still able to make Champions Club. Since then I have worked my way back to the top.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Skyline Home Loans – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is Real Estate finance. I specialize in helping people with their dream of being a home owner. What I am proud of most with my company is that we have great leadership. I have been in this business for over 29 years and have seen so many companies fail, and most of the time it’s because of poor leadership. What sets me apart from my competition is the experience I bring to the table; especially in these turbulent lending times.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would like the opportunity one day to help run either my company I currently work for, or the opportunity to help run another company. My 1st choice of course is to grow with my company and have them utilize my experience and talents.
