Ayurveda is literally ‘The Science of Life.’ it is an ancient Indian form of healing which was established thousands of years ago, and continues to become re-discovered today.
The unique ingredients present in our products have been chosen and blended to calm, sooth, relax and cleanse the mind and body. Developed by two doctor sisters, who collaborated to bring these traditional elements to benefit ALL!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to success in anything one does is never straightforward. Maaveda started out as a hobby which later became a product line.
With so many products out there, our obstacle has been to make more people aware of our brand. Yes, there are many natural, skin care lines out there. Ours is unique, as it is created by two doctor sisters who understand the need for safety in skin care products, which I feel is lacking.
When you go to the drugstore, many products contain a chemical such as parabens, sulfates, SLES’s which have been linked to forms of breast cancer.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Maaveda story. Tell us more about the business.
Maaveda was conceived by myself and my sister. I am a board-certified OB/GYN practicing in California. My sister is a general practitioner by training, and now a stay at home mom. My patient’s tell me that I am very understanding and compassionate as a doctor. I try to incorporate the same ethics in Maaveda.
I am proud of the fact, that this company was started on my own without any financial back up from anyone. Our uniqueness is in our background profession, as medical doctors we have done our research to know what ingredients are safe. So that our products are infused with Ayurvedic elements which have shown to heal the mind and body through aroma and massage, along with the knowledge to identify harmfully, cancer-causing ingredients.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe luck had nothing to do with it. It’s about effort and reward. The more work one puts in, the bigger the gain.
