Meet Aja Daashuur of The Spirit Guide Coach – Spirit House Collective in Eagle Rock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aja Daashuur.

Aja, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I never wanted to be a medium. This path was never one I thought I would dedicate my life to. I had experiences with the other side as a child that terrified me so I made a point to block out my gifts for decades. It was only in the midst of a serious depression that I decided to take stock of where I was in my life and discover if I was pursuing avenues that actually made me happy or just should make me happy. This awakened me to my desire to be of service to others, specifically women. I enrolled in courses that would certify me as a transformational life coach and began connecting to my third eye again and to the spiritual realm.

I had doubts about embarking on this journey. I had been pulled towards the metaphysical during my coaching training but kept talking myself out of it. I told myself that I would be isolated and no one would understand. Once I began speaking to my Spirit Guides (basically your personal life coaches that exist through the veil), they suggested I merge my life coaching practice with my mediumship. From that point on, everything changed. I’ve learned to trust them completely and we work on my private practice as well as Spirit House Collective together as a team. I ask for their thoughts on collaborators, workshops and business expansion.

I carry out my work from home, which is also where Spirit House Collective holds our weekly workshops: I’m super fortunate to have a home that is perfect for the type of work that I do. I also hold third eye, spirit guide and sound bath workshops throughout the city so that I can continue to help people connect to their inner spark beyond my home base.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I am 100% committed to doing this work, and in large part that’s because what I want to tell people is you are never alone, literally. In your darkest hour, even if you’re alone in a darkened alley or in your room crying over a broken heart, you’re actually not alone.

Regarding my private practice and its evolution, I have pretty concrete views on how to expand as a healer.
I know some people in the community feel differently about this – and all perspectives are valid – but I believe there is a time period in which one needs to hone their gifts and focus the healing on themselves and others for free and not charge. We live in a very different time, 100-200 years ago, I might have been holding readings on a cliffside somewhere where people are bringing food and water and small gifts as compensation. But we have to support and sustain ourselves financially. Even now, I will give some readings as a trade or discount. I gave a woman a reading at a store recently because I just felt called to talk to her. I asked her, of course, and she received it! If it were possible, my Guides would want me to talk to everyone, but they also know I need a roof over my head. But I am allowed to use this gift to support myself. When I’m giving I’m receiving and it’s a beautiful dance.

Opening Spirit House wasn’t easy. When I started this business there were workshops where it was just me sitting on the floor at home, waiting for someone, anyone to walk through my door. I was nervous, insecure, but I just kept going because I believe that there needed to be a support system for those connected to more than what meets the eye. There needed to be a safe place to explore dormant gifts without feeling judged or ridiculed.
Eventually, more and more women began coming to release, learn and expand. As their hearts and minds expanded, so did our community. I now have this amazing network of women that I can reach out to at any moment and it feels so wonderful. I feel held and I know the women who join our circles feel the same way.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Spirit Guide Coach – Spirit House Collective story. Tell us more about the business.
Spirit House Collective is a female-identifying community, dedicated to spreading knowledge, love and healing from our hearts straight to yours. Each workshop is hosted by an extraordinary healer who believes in sharing her gifts and light with all who desire to join our circle. We provide a sacred space for women to release whatever weight rests on her shoulders while learning to explore individual paths and to love herself unapologetically.

We are known for connecting women with their superpowers. Gifts that they have been told to ignore or suppress. Energy healing, Clairvoyant abilities, Empath Club, Moon Lodges, Reiki certifications, Akashic Record readings, Dream Interpretation, connecting with plant spirits. Basically, if it’s in the realm of the metaphysical we probably provide it.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I feel very blessed to be on the path of my calling, but I don’t feel luck plays into it. I create the reality I wish to live in. I am open, I listen to my spirit guides, the women who share their unique stories with me and my own intuition. If I feel pulled in a certain direction I go for it 100% and if I fail, well that’s ok. There will always be something beautiful to be found around the next corner.
