Today we’d like to introduce you to AJ Schmidt.
AJ, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am an online fitness coach and owner of Ajbodyandmind fitness. I also am an entertainer for a touring group called magicmen live. I was a college basketball player in college. I ran into life-threatening health issues that resulted in me almost losing my life right after my college basketball career. I had ulcerative colitis and had to have an emergency full colectomy done and two surgeries following to get me back to life. I found out I had celiac disease and had to eat gluten free which resulted in me becoming very healthy. I then entered the fitness world and got into the best shape of my life within a year. I then became a self-employed fitness model and did shoots in Chicago, Miami, New York, Daytona Beach and Detroit Michigan for underwear and swimsuit companies. Shortly after that I started dancing for small nightclubs and continued on my fitness journey. I then got more involved with multiple review groups that traveled the country and even to Puerto Rico. I then met Myles Hass in Detroit and joined up with magic men, a very well known male review group. We took off and toured the whole country for four years and even through Canada.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
While touring with them, we changed the male review game. It turned into a full concert production. We started performing at big places like the belco in Denver Colorado, theaters all over the country like for example the version theatre in Dallas.
While touring, I started a business focused around helping people with nutrition and training called Ajbodyandmind. The message I want to reach people with is that the body and mind are connected. If you take care of your body to the best of your ability, it helps every aspect in life. I have a full. Biology bachelor degree and I am a certified trainer. I have scaled the business up the past 12 months, and the numbers of people I have helped are in the 5000’s. I’m looking to help as many people as I possibly can because I have a huge passion to pass my knowledge as well as the fact that changing other people’s lives has an immense positive Impact on my own life.
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
Advice I have for any artist is chase your dreams and manifest exactly how you want to form and live your life. Delayed gratification definitely has to be in place if you want to be great at anything, meaning you will have to dig through a lot of dirt to find the gold. What you think about most of the time and put your efforts and action into in the smartest way is the key to manifesting what you want. By taking advice from the people doing the best and really being teachable will get you far in anything you want to do in life. Keep an open mind and have a burning desire for what you want and go after it! Successful people are doing what everyone else are simply just talking about.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
You can see my work at www.ajbodyandmind.com. You can email me and contact me right through the site! If you are looking to take your body to the next level, you can support me by letting me help you do just that. I also have a free 30-day program which you can download at www.aj30day.com.
