Meet Aimee Johnson of The Urban Psychic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee Johnson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Aimee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story is that I didn’t really know what psychic or clairvoyant even was. And I didn’t really have any interest in finding out. But a psychic moved into my neighborhood and I was referred to her a bunch of times. So, I finally went. She told me I was a clairvoyant healer and that changed my life forever. Turns out it was true. 2 months later is was reading and teaching psychic tools professionally and have been ever since. That was almost 11 years ago. The basic structure of a reading is that somebody comes in and sits down, gives me their full name three times and me and my guides take it from there. We tend to focus on core internal beliefs and imbalances. For example, the relationship between your mental emotional and spiritual bodies, the patterns therein and how they are affecting your physical body and physical reality. Everything is made of energy and I read that energy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In this area, I actually can’t complain too much. The biggest challenge I have is with the word psychic. And peoples preconceived ideas about what that is. The other challenge is how hard core the victim mentality has been programmed into us. People who believe they are victims of anything at all will not heal. People who are ready to take responsibility for their thoughts emotions and actions are in a much better position to work with somebody like me.

The Urban Psychic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business, The Urban Psychic, is known for its accessibility. My offices have always been right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the busiest and trendiest neighborhoods in San Diego. I really wanted to bridge the gap between what people think psychic is and their fears of it to helping people realize that it’s a functional and important habit to incorporate into one’s daily life. It’s not a hokey phenomenon, it’s a normal tangible and very real tool that I do not think people should be living without. I made a habit of beating the streets with the folks so that they could get to know me in social situations and so that we could build rapport and trust. Once they realize I’m a person just like them it makes it easier for them to trust and heal. I’ve been told that I say things in a way that’s real and straightforward and this helps people. The truth is the focus and this is what we discover in each reading. What the fuck is really going on with someone and what they can do about it – that’s the focus.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Honestly, there are too many to pick one. I have witnessed many miracles from weddings to births to the healing of illnesses. I am always excited and mesmerized at how well it works. I mean sometimes 30 mins will completely change someone’s life and that is amazing to me. How powerful god and love and light is, and how it is never withholding, is forever enlightening to me. My discovery of this is my best accomplishment.
