Meet Adam Marz of Marz Media in DTLA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Marz.

Adam, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Light is Love. We are all made of light.

I landed on this beautiful planet in 1985 in Canada and three short years later became a musician thanks to my loving folks, likely the most important moment of my life.

Music led me to light and has become my main instrument/brush. More than a decade as an international touring light artist has shown me that our awareness of light has the power to transform our inner being by showing us the beauty in all of creation, thus increasing the receiving as well as the transmitting levels of our love energy.

My mission on this planet is to increase the transmission levels of love energy between all beings by way of multi-dimensional, multi-disciplinary light expressions. My music, paintings, group meditation sessions that I facilitate are prime examples of such light expressions of love.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My life has been a real movie. From deep depression to extreme elation it’s been an incredible ride.

A life-changing tornado disaster, from US border immigration ban to constant world travel touring, rockstar treatment one moment then slave labor the next, two unborn children, gunshots fired in my direction, an earthquake (of course), love and loss and more love there has been no shortage of excitement in my life.

I believe that there are no roadblocks, only speed bumps, and sometimes we need a speed bump in order to slow down a moment and be present.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My business is my art and my art is my expression of love. The most prolific medium for this art thus far has been lighting design, having lit dozens international artists for hundreds of concerts and world-class events across the globe.

Light is not only the most powerful brush one can paint with but is also a tangible expression and symbol for spirituality and love. My philosophy is Light is Love. This comes through in my paintings, music writing, group meditation sessions I lead, photography and really in everything I do. Our hearts are lightbulbs, we can choose to light others with our love at any point!

Currently, my art expressions are called Love Portal paintings. Close your eyes and see love…we all have the power to see love auras whenever we consciously close our eyes and observe the phosphenes with intention and presence.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up across from Detroit in Windsor, Canada in what I’d describe as three phases.

The first being an open, expressive, loving little being.

The second being a more closed off self-conscious sensitive phase where I took everything personally and allowed it to tear down my sense of self-worth.

The third phase of consciousness expansion where I’ve come into my own through daily meditation, yoga and endless forms of artistic expression including light, music, painting, photography, set design and event planning.
