Today we’d like to introduce you to Abraham Martinez, Tony Jimenez, and Chris Robledo.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all began after we catered an event that had its own personal wood fire pizza oven. We would often help cater small events for extra money, however, this event really stood out because the guests were witnessing their food prepped and cooked on site. We saw how excited guests were at the party once they received their own personal pizza. Out of all the catering jobs we had previously worked at the guests at this party were really astonished by the catering experience. This event triggered our idea of creating our own pizza catering company. We wanted to bring that same experience to other events.
After conducting some research, we realized there was a huge market for it and so the journey began. We started our company in August 2018 and have now catered over 70 events that include birthday parties, corporate luncheons, graduations, weddings, and so much more! We have also had the opportunity to work as a food vendor at different festivals like Demon Dayz Music Festival, One Love Reggae Festival and our most recent Back to the Beach Music Festival.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We’ve had a lot of struggles along the way but we’ve been able to overcome them and grow as a company. I think the biggest struggle we faced is the ability to keep up with demand at festivals. We care a lot about the quality of our pizza so we avoid cutting corners at all costs. However, this is difficult to accomplish when you are selling over 600 pizzas in a couple of hours. Luckily we’ve made the appropriate purchases to help us improve efficiency without losing quality.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Los Angeles Pizzeria Company story. Tell us more about the business.
We are Los Angeles Pizzeria Company and we specialize in creating memorable moments with our wood fire pizza catering! We are known for our delicious pizzas and our mobile wood-burning oven. We are also known for our dessert pizzas that tend to surprise most of our customers! And I believe that is what sets us apart, our ability to adapt and try new things on pizzas but at the same time keeping things classic and delicious.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
As a business owner, you want to try your best to be in full control of your business. You want to be able to control all aspects of your business and you hope that your preparedness translates to good customer services and a busy schedule. But there are times where things happen that are out of your control and it takes a lot of luck to sometimes resolve these last minute issues. We’ve had our fair share of bad luck but I think that overall, our good luck has overshadowed it.
