Meet Abdi Manavi of Dive Palm Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abdi Manavi.

Abdi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been an owner of a restaurant, bars, and a nightclub, so opening a hotel was the natural next step. It had also been a dream of mine ever since I walked into The Royalton when I was 21. It was Ian Schrager and Phillipe Starck’s first collaboration when the word “boutique” hotel was not commonly used. The design and all the coolness of it blew my mind and has been an inspiration to this day. Three years ago, I moved to Palm Springs from Los Angeles to learn how to run a hotel and was very lucky to be given a job with a successful boutique hotel group that had several hotels in the area. A year later, a friend who had fallen in love with hospitality after creating a very successful Airbnb in Joshua Tree, wanted to open a hotel and asked me to be his partner. Thus Dive Palm Springs was born.

Has it been a smooth road?
It had been pretty smooth until the pandemic, but we are very fortunate to have bounced back very quickly. Actually, we have been sold out almost every day since we reopened.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
The company is a group of friends who have the same taste in life and enjoy being part of a tribe. We are very personable and treat all our guests as friends visiting our home. The level of intimacy between guests and staff is something I have not experienced at any other hotel.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Getting to know all our guests personally and really caring about every moment of their stay while they are in our hands.

Pricing:

  • King Rooms at Dive Palm Springs start from $175 per night + $25 resort fee.
