Meet Aaron Hemmelgarn of Full Impact Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Hemmelgarn.

Aaron, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started in 2006 in Long Beach, California and moved to Los Angeles in 2010.

Understanding web technology and how search engines and Google worked helped us to stay at the top of search since the start of our company. We do very little paid advertising because we are on top of Google search for our eCommerce niche.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Owning a business is never a smooth road, it’s full of ups and downs. We barely made it out of the recession and had to make some major cutbacks in staff and locations.

Moving to Los Angeles and getting on top of the search presence for such a large city was crucial to our success.

Please tell us about Full Impact Studios.
We are a Los Angeles web design and eCommerce development agency. While we can design and build beautiful and technical websites our specialty is really in eCommerce web development. We have been designing and building eCommerce websites since 2008 when eCommerce really started to take hold in the U.S. I think what sets us apart from other agencies is our personable and knowledgeable approach with our customers.

We really take an interest in getting to know who we’re doing business with and how they run and operate their business. We dig into the business operations as a whole because one business practice could shape the way we do things on the website. We look for ways to help the business integrate tightly with their online presence, such as accounting/ERP integrations, warehouse and fulfillment integrations and more.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Thinking back on what we have done differently, it would probably be focusing more attention on eCommerce and less on business to business websites. In other words, cornering the eCommerce web development niche sooner than we did. That is about all I would have changed because everything else was a growth experience. We understand that the adversity we dealt with in the beginning is what made us what we are today.
