Lucia Shuhaibar of All California on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Lucia Shuhaibar shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Lucia, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve been voluntarily jumping into freezing water. Yes, on purpose. Cold plunges and contrast therapy have become my favorite way to flirt with death and rebirth before breakfast. There’s something magical about surrendering to discomfort and realizing, “Wow… I didn’t die. I’m just dramatically more alive now.” It’s like caffeine but spiritual. That … and pilates! Just love the motivation the reformer gives me.

Then there’s the daily dose of romance comedy that is my husband sneaking up behind me to mimic my dance moves. Imagine trying to be graceful and hypnotic, only to suddenly have your personal backup dancer appear mid spin. We laugh like kids at recess, it’s joy in motion.

Also, we live with two majestic Persian cats who believe they are reincarnated queens of ancient Mesopotamia. Add our dog Mandarina, who might secretly be a monk in disguise, and the vibe at home is pure mystic sanctuary meets fluffy chaos.

And because I like a challenge, I’ve also been learning Arabic with a Lebanese accent. Nothing humbles your ego like trying to pronounce a throaty ‘ع’ while your cats judge you silently. And a person with Italian & latin roots, it’s been a beautiful portal to connect with my husband’s roots, I think part of my soul already speaks the language, it’s just catching up.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Lucía Argut, (Shuhaibar since my husband), actress, hypnotherapist, mindset mentor, and founder of My Brain Club, a platform devoted to helping people transform fear into presence, anxiety into clarity, and self-doubt into magnetic confidence.

I started out on stages and film sets, but the real performance, the one that changed my life, was the inner one. After years of navigating burnout, emotional trauma, and pressure to constantly “prove myself,” I discovered the power of subconscious work. That’s when everything shifted.

Today, I help people reprogram what’s running beneath the surface, using a blend of hypnosis, neuroscience based coaching, storytelling, and even a bit of magic. My brand mixes depth with humor, science with soul, and spirituality with grounded strategy. What makes My Brain Club special is that we don’t just work on mindset, we work on identity, confidence, and emotional safety, especially for women & men ready to speak, lead, and shine without shrinking.

Right now, I’m launching a new 30 day challenge, and a private mentorship for women & men who want to stop hiding and become visible voices in their field, without sacrificing their softness or soul in the process.

Because I believe visibility isn’t vanity, it’s legacy.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to earn love by being perfect. That if I performed well enough, pleased others, stayed quiet when I was hurting, and always “got it right,” maybe then I’d be worthy of affection, protection, and peace.

I no longer believe that.

Today, I know that love isn’t a reward, it’s a birthright. I don’t have to perform to be safe, or shrink to be accepted. My worth isn’t negotiable. And the more I’ve healed and unlearned, the more I realize that the most magnetic thing we can ever be… is our full, unfiltered self.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the deepest wounds of my life was being born into a home where love wasn’t just absent, it was a battlefield. My parents weren’t simply a couple who didn’t love each other, they were enemies. Two wounded people who didn’t know how to be happy without making the other miserable. I grew up surrounded by tension, emotional chaos, and the belief that love always came with pain.

That belief followed me into my first relationships. I didn’t know what a safe connection felt like. I was drawn to conflict because it felt familiar. And it didn’t stop with romantic partners, it showed up in friendships too. I trusted women who spoke behind my back or used my vulnerability as ammunition. A part of me saw it coming… but I tolerated it, because deep down, I thought that was all I deserved.

Healing began when I started questioning that emotional inheritance. I realized that repeating the past isn’t loyalty, it’s bondage. Accepting and loving myself helped me go to the root, to rewire the beliefs that kept me stuck, and to give my inner child what she never had: protection, unconditional love, and a voice that finally stood up for her. Hypnosis is a powerful tool to do this.

Now, I no longer choose from fear, lack, or the need to be loved. I choose from peace. And you can do it too, I’ve created a space, My Brain Club, where other women can do the same: break free from old programming and become their own safe home.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Not entirely. What you see online is maybe 30% of me, filtered through lighting, captions, and just enough cuteness to avoid scaring people off. Sure, you might see pretty pictures or polished posts, but in real life… I’m ridiculously silly. I make sound effects when I talk. I dance terribly on purpose. I joke a lot. My husband has to live with a one-woman improv show on a daily basis.

More than ten years ago, when I started acting, I took all those classic “actress poses”, the chin tilt, the smoldering look, the dramatic stare into the void. That kind of shaped how I posted for a long time: curated, composed, slightly mysterious. But that’s not the whole story.

Bit by bit, I’ve been letting more of the real me peek through, silly videos, spontaneous stories, educational content that hopefully makes you laugh and learn. I’m still figuring out how to bring all of me online without overthinking it… but I’m getting there.
Is in my sessions, talks and masterclasses where you get my person 100% genuine. I might be wearing a nice outfit, but I’ll still be making sound effects and laughing too loud.

So no, the full public version of me hasn’t arrived yet… but she’s on her way, probably barefoot, singing something off-key.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think some people might assume my legacy is about confidence, speaking on stages, healing anxiety, or just helping others “get better.” And while those are beautiful parts of the work I do, they’re not the heart of it.

What might be misunderstood is that my legacy isn’t about fixing anyone, it’s about remembering who you were before the world made you forget. It’s not about chasing perfection or becoming “successful” in a traditional sense. It’s about reclaiming your voice, your softness, your power, your truth.

People might think I teach performance. But I actually teach presence. They might see hypnosis and think it’s about control, but it’s about freedom. They might hear my laughter and think I’ve never known darkness, but I laugh like that because I have.

And maybe some will misunderstand the silliness, the dancing, the glamorous moments as superficial. But those are sacred to me too, joy is rebellion. Beauty is medicine. Play is power.

So yes, parts of my story might be misunderstood. But I trust that the ones meant to feel it, will feel it. The legacy is not what I leave behind, it’s what I wake up in others.
