Life & Work with Wade Henderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wade Henderson.

Hi Wade , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve loved movies and storytelling since I was a kid. I was devastated I wasn’t cast in Jurassic Park even though I was a little boy growing up on a farm in Florida far from Hollywood. The magic of imagery stuck with me though. I’ve been passionate about fashion, theatre, acting, art, architecture, and design for as long as I can remember. Photography was originally a passing interest but after a few classes and some experience, I realized it allowed me to continue to explore all these interests. I love that photography is a continual learning process and the more I create the more it allows me to find my voice, It also guides me to find what I want to share with the world and to connect. It teaches me, inspires me, makes me question, and helps me to open my eyes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have certainly been some bumps along the way. Learning how to get a business off of its feet has been challenging at times. However, whenever I pick up a camera and create whether it’s with an actor, a designer, an architect, or a creative team, I find that the magic of photography pulls me forward on my path and those bumps and challenges actually are opportunities to grow.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a photographer specializing in portraits, fashion, and men’s physique. A lot of my work is headshots and creating with all kinds of actors and entertainers. I have a growing interest in travel and architecture photography, too. I’m so proud of sticking with photography over the years. Originally it was a hobby but it has grown into an exciting career. I think my focus on details really sets me apart. I know what I want to see. All my passions have led me to have an eye for my product. That combined with the energy from who or what is inspiring me creates something exciting. Being a part of that is a wonderful feeling.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Whenever people ask why photography I say, “The joy in creation, the pride in my work, and the dizzying possibilities the process generates. It’s a bit of magic that I can share.”

I also think photography has allowed me to learn about myself and others and I’m so grateful for each opportunity.
