Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Curry
Hi Vanessa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in San Francisco Ca, and raised in Fremont Ca and is a versatile performer celebrated for her dynamic presence in the entertainment industry as a dancer, actress, and model. Her journey began at age 15 where she landed her first national campaign as the face of Hello Kitty in stores, in Elle and Seventeen magazine. Her passion for performance was ignited and led her to pursue further opportunities in these fields.
Vanessa first gained public attention as a Laker Girl, a prestigious position on the cheerleading squad for the Los Angeles Lakers. Her time as a Laker Girl showcased her exceptional dance and Hosting skills that brought her into the spotlight, going on to dance for artists such as Pitbull, Christina Aguilarra on shows like American Idol and X-Factor. Vanessa’s talents caught the eye of The Pussycat Dolls, a renowned girl group known for their high-energy performances and hit songs. Joining the group after the original lineup, Vanessa contributed her talents, adding to the group’s dynamic stage presence.
She has pursued acting, demonstrating her versatility as a performer. Appearing in a variety of television shows, commercials and films such as CSI NY, Killing It, Buick, Old Navy, Chase Bank, Always and Forever, Zales and Behind The Trees. Her acting roles have allowed her to explore different facets of her talent and reach new audiences.
She has also made her mark in the modeling world, working with various brands such as KKW beauty, Target, Jessica Simpson Collection, Cover Girl, Eleven by Venus Williams, Sephora and Ulta to name a few . Her modeling work complements her performance career, highlighting her adaptability.
Beyond her professional achievements, she contributes to the entertainment community by teaching audition techniques classes and on her social platforms Vanessa is known for her dedication to fitness, wellness and mental health awareness. She often shares insights into her routines and lifestyle, inspiring others to pursue a balanced, healthy and adventurous life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve struggled with imposter syndrome and anxiety over the years. However, by incorporating meditation, grounding techniques, and social support, I have been able to safely continue to grow into the strong woman I am today.
So, what has been your most memorable job?
Booking the Buick commercial and getting to play four versions of myself and play with improv was such a dream. The set and crew were amazing.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Find friends you can look up to, ask questions with, and bounce ideas off of. Living in a creative mindset, I learn so much from like-minded people who inspire me. Attend events and be kind to everyone you meet along the way. You never know when you might work with the same people again.
