Life & Work with Shaina Singh of Venice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaina Singh

Hi Shaina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA, which is where I originally fell in love with the art of yoga. After college, I worked as an accountant for YogaWorks, Inc., which led me to getting my 200-hour teaching certification and ultimately pursuing a career as a yoga teacher.

As I deepened my practice and teaching, I also started sharing my journey on social media. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into something much bigger—I built a personal brand, growing my Instagram following to over 75,000. Along the way, I became a voice for Indian women, creating content that blends self-love, sensuality, and empowerment in a way that feels authentic to me.

In 2023, I launched The Divine Flow Lab, my online yoga studio, as a space for people to connect with movement in a way that feels soft, sensual, and deeply intentional. My goal has always been to move beyond the stereotypical ideology behind yoga—the idea that one must be extremely flexible or have a certain type of body to practice. Yoga is for everyone, and I wanted to create a space where people —especially women, felt empowered to explore it in their own way—can embody confidence, flow freely, and embrace their own divine energy. I’ve also expanded into content creation across multiple platforms, from YouTube to digital offerings like meditations, music, and more.
Today, my work is a fusion of yoga, self-expression, and creative storytelling, and I’m continuing to explore new ways to grow, connect, and inspire through my content.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. Pursuing a creative career comes with a lot of uncertainty—but in 2023, I became so aligned with the idea that I could build my own business that I decided I didn’t care if the road was going to be smooth or bumpy.

Spiritually, I’ve struggled with imposter syndrome and finding my voice as a yoga teacher. In an industry that often feels saturated, it took time for me to fully own my unique perspective and trust that my approach to yoga—one that blends sensuality, self-love, and empowerment—was valid and needed. There were moments when I questioned whether I was “qualified enough” or if my style resonated with people, but over time, I realized that authenticity is what truly connects. The more I embraced my own flow, the more others did too.

Business-wise, it’s been a constant juggling act. Being the talent in front of the camera, the editor, the marketer, and the creative visionary all at once is no small task. There are days when it feels overwhelming, especially when trying to balance content creation with the backend of running a business. But despite the challenges, I’ve never been more proud of myself for building something that is entirely my own. Watching my vision come to life and seeing the impact it has on others makes every challenge worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a yoga teacher, content creator, and digital entrepreneur, blending movement, self-expression, and storytelling to create a unique space for self-love and empowerment. My work spans across multiple platforms—YouTube, Instagram, and my online yoga studio, The Divine Flow Lab—where I guide people through sensual, intentional movement practices designed to help them feel more connected to their bodies.

What sets me apart is my approach to yoga. I move away from the rigid, traditional structure and instead create flows that feel soft, fluid, and deeply personal. I believe yoga should feel good, not just look good, and my goal is to help people embody confidence, sensuality, and self-love through movement. I also incorporate elements like meditation, music, and creative storytelling to make my content feel immersive and inspiring. I only teach my classes on the beach, encouraging students to practice yoga wherever they can/want!

Beyond yoga, I’ve built a personal brand that resonates with a growing audience, particularly women of all backgrounds and body types, by embracing my identity in a way that feels bold and unapologetic. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve created something that is entirely my own—a brand, a community, and a career that aligns with my vision and values. It hasn’t been easy, but knowing that my work has helped others feel seen, inspired, or more at home in their own skin makes it all worth it.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see the wellness and yoga industry continuing to evolve, with a stronger emphasis on holistic, personalized practices that blend movement with mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. As people become more aware of the importance of self-care and mental health, I think we’ll see a shift towards more accessible, inclusive, and authentic practices—moving away from the traditional, sometimes rigid models and embracing more fluid, creative approaches that allow people to truly connect with themselves.

I also anticipate a rise in digital-first yoga platforms and online communities, as people continue to seek convenience and flexibility in their wellness routines. The focus will likely shift to more interactive and immersive experiences—things like virtual retreats, live-streamed classes, and community-driven events. I believe yoga will become more integrated into everyday life, with a focus on mindfulness, intentionality, and self-expression, rather than just fitness or physical postures.

What’s also exciting is the increased merging of wellness with other areas like self-love, sensuality, and empowerment. As wellness continues to diversify, I think there will be more room for unconventional voices and practices, which is something I’m passionate about. I see my own niche growing, especially with themes of self-love, body positivity, and creating space for women to feel empowered, confident, and unapologetic in their own skin.

Ultimately, the future of yoga and wellness will be all about creating accessible, inclusive, and authentic spaces that allow people to connect with themselves on a deeper level. I’m excited to be part of that shift and can’t wait to see how it unfolds!
