Life & Work with Rosie De Candia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosie De Candia.

Hi Rosie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a first-generation Italian American gal originally from New Jersey. I have had a plethora of careers but currently, I am an actor/singer who has created and produced her own podcast called “Jersey Reads the Classics”. I am 53 years old and am a big advocate for aging and embracing all the beauty of an aging woman. I am very involved on Instagram and have built up a following of 40,000 people. I am all about being authentic, living out loud and being a good human. I am into tarot cards, crystals, meditating and good vibes. I recently started doing stand-up comedy and performed at The Comedy Store in December. I am sassy, fun-loving, effervescent and an empath. I am open, honest and always bring joy wherever I go. My main goal is to leave people better than I found them.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
OH HELL NO! I have been in show business since I was 9 years old….44 years…I have had health issues in the past and am currently going through menopause. I am very open about my journey of discovering my purpose and following my dreams. I have faced many obstacles and still do but I do love to share and talk about it so I can help others on their journey.

I have faced and continue to face rejection in the entertainment industry but I am so persistent and resilient that I am not giving up and my health issues never were diagnosed. However, because I couldn’t get a diagnosis, I have found other modalities of healing, which have led me to my spiritual journey.

I am celibate and have been for 25 years.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an actor and singer, and a movie I co-starred in is on Amazon prime, it is called “FAMOUS”. I currently record, edit and produce my own inspirational audiobook podcast, “Jersey Reads the Classics”. I taught myself and am very proud of my work. I am different because even though I am 53, I still find joy with social media and create my own content and sometimes do a little influencing. I am a character and definitely larger than life. Once someone meets me, they never forget who I am.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is being a good human being who helps others and does the best they can while sharing their light in a positive way.
