Life & Work with Rondel King of Brooklyn New York

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rondel King

Hi Rondel , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I dropped out of college when I fell in love with music, all thanks to a friend who introduced me to the craft. Back then, I was more focused on poetry and rapping fast, but making full songs was a whole different challenge. It took time to get good at structuring tracks, crafting hooks, and finding my sound.

I spent countless hours parked on random blocks in my beat-up, hand-me-down Isuzu, writing and refining my music. At first, I recorded in my friend’s home studio, where the mixing and mastering were rough, but we made it work. When his computer crashed, it forced all of us to take things more seriously—we started pooling money together for real studio time.

That’s when I truly started developing my rap voice and cadences, learning how to bring emotion and precision into my delivery. But the real moment I knew I had it? When the friends who didn’t make music with me—who never liked my songs—finally heard one they rocked with. That was proof I had leveled up.

From there, everything changed. Music wasn’t just a passion—it became my purpose.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has It Been a Smooth Road?
Not at all. Learning the music business was one thing, but navigating song promotion in the digital era was a whole different challenge. I hit my head a lot—met faulty people, and even met good people I didn’t know how to utilize properly at the time. I lost opportunities because I couldn’t always tell what was legit and what wasn’t.

But nothing in my life has ever been smooth or easy. Every failure, every setback—I took as a lesson. Each misstep sharpened my instincts and pushed me to move smarter. The road hasn’t been easy, but that’s what makes the journey real.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m RonyKii—an artist blending rock, rap, and pop into something raw, rebellious, and real. I specialize in creating music that isn’t just heard but felt—songs that mix emotion with attitude, fashion with sound. I’m known for pushing boundaries, from my genre-bending style to my visuals that reflect a bold, East Coast-centric aesthetic.

What I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve had—not just in my own growth but in how I’ve inspired other artists to put more thought into their presentation. Seeing people step up their artistry because of what I do means everything.

What sets me apart? I don’t follow trends—I set my own. My music, my visuals, my style—it’s all about confidence, rebellion, and self-expression. I take the DIY mindset and make it feel high fashion. I come from a place where we make art out of nothing—flipping thrift finds into statement pieces and turning raw emotions into anthems. My work isn’t just about sound—it’s about energy.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I wouldn’t be where I am without the people who have supported and believed in me along the way. Chad McIntyre is someone I met recently who really took a liking to my music. He embraced it wholeheartedly and even got me a couple of key opportunities to showcase my work to the right people. His support has meant a lot.

I also have to give credit to Very Rare Cinema, a management group out of California that took me under their wing earlier this year. They’ve been helping me plan releases, stay consistent with my brand, and sometimes just giving solid advice when I need it. Having people who genuinely want to see me win has been a game-changer.
