Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Staxxx.
Hi Regina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started off as a flamboyant being from the start. Anything feminine was my go to! I found drag when I was around 10 or 11 and instantly knew that I would be a queen. For years I pranced around my neighbor telling all my friends about these beautiful men in wigs who I wanted to be like. After years of exploring makeup and watching all the pop videos I could with my best friend, I started thinking of the name I would use and the type of drag I wanted to do. By 15 or 16, I had a name figured out, my friend’s support, and a dream to be on tv and show the world my talent and my heart.
Now before my 24th birthday, I am almost three years in and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. I’ve been booked all around and have worked with some of drags most seasoned and legendary entertainers.
I am so proud of all I have done in such a short time and cannot wait to keep going up! I have so many goals for myself and I am determined to reach every single one!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life has been a struggle! From losing my mother at a very young age, a father who needed to work towards acceptance and tolerance, and a world who told me I was too gay to function; but nonetheless I kept pushing. The most challenging times have been self-discovery and confidence. Learning to love yourself is needed and it has not been easy. Self-doubt and insecurities are huge in anything we do but they have been the toughest because drag without confidence doesn’t work.
But as I have learned to love myself, things have blossomed and my true self has been able to pry their way out.
No matter how hard it was, I never gave up and will never give up. I am grateful for every experience good or bad because it has brought me to where I am today and I couldn’t thank the universe enough for everything it has allotted me 💫
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work alongside some of the best entertainers in multiple types of venues as a lip sync drag queen. I learned early on by myself how to put on makeup and how to walk in heels. Fully self-taught but always accepting advice and tips.
I became known very quickly in my drag journey. Was nominated for “Break Through artist of 2018”, and officially became a brunch host and special guest in multiple venues in multiple cities of Colorado. I am no professional dancer but I am known for my energetic numbers, death drops, and kicks. I bring songs to the stage that most entertainers do not.
I am most proud of my becoming a part of the most legendary and sickening haus in Denver the, StaxXx Navy. It has been my dream since I was a teenager discovering the local scene in Denver and to make it a reality is seriously such a proud moment for me. I could go on and on about how obsessed I am with my family, especially my drag mother Luna Vibez. She is one of the most sickening queens and humans I know.
I believe the one thing that sets me apart from others is my soul. My heart shines through in anything I do, and the connections that I make and the energy that I give off is what has given me the opportunities I have. I definitely thank manifestation for everything that I have because if I didn’t think it and put energy towards it, then it would have never happened.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Being a drag artist, people pay so much attention to my lipsyncing that they never think to themselves that I actually can sing live. After years and years of musical training, I pride myself in the voice I trained with so many amazing talented singers over the years.
