Today we’d like to introduce you to Razmick Ohanian.
Hi Razmick, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Tehran, Iran, of Armenian heritage.
After spending a year in Frankfurt, Germany, as refugees, my family eventually immigrated to Los Angeles. I was raised in the San Fernando Valley—first in Tarzana, then later in Reseda.
My parents worked incredibly hard to build a life for us here. I watched them face the immense challenge of learning a new language while raising a family and making ends meet with very limited resources. My father, a general contractor, and my mother, a devoted homemaker, gave us a humble but love-filled upbringing. Together, they sacrificed a great deal to provide for me and my siblings.
My father eventually began developing residential properties throughout the Valley. He specialized in new residential construction and even built our own family home, along with two others on the same street where I grew up. From a young age, I accompanied him to job sites across Encino, Beverly Hills, and greater Los Angeles—those early experiences quietly planted the seeds for my future.
While I was in college pursuing a degree in Biology with the intention of going to pharmacy school, I also worked in banking. That experience gave me early exposure to finance, sales, and the importance of relationship-building. Although pharmacy initially seemed like my path, life had different plans. I found myself working in equipment financing and leasing, where I deepened my knowledge in business, financial contracts, and portfolio management.
In 2012, I obtained my real estate broker’s license and officially began practicing in 2017. However, just as my career was starting to take off, I went through a personal setback—a divorce—that required me to step back and focus on my emotional and mental well-being.
Eventually, I made the decision to return to real estate with renewed clarity and commitment to my long-term vision. I spent my first four years at Coldwell Banker and recently joined Christie’s International Real Estate, Southern California—a global luxury brand with over 250 years of history.
My journey has been anything but linear, but every step—every struggle, every pivot—has shaped the professional and person I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey into real estate has certainly been filled with its share of highs and lows.
When I first started, I didn’t have a network—no connections to agents, and no established client base. I had to build everything from the ground up. I spent countless hours attending open houses, broker caravans, and industry events—not just to learn, but to genuinely connect with top-performing agents and immerse myself in the communities I wanted to specialize in.
In those early days, I often volunteered to host open houses for other agents. It was an invaluable way to gain client-facing experience, learn the rhythm of the business, and slowly begin earning the trust of prospective homebuyers. One relationship at a time, I began building a pipeline.
Of course, there were tough lessons along the way. I learned firsthand that in a hyper-competitive industry like real estate, loyalty isn’t always a given. But what remained constant was my work ethic—something I’ve always taken pride in. Over time, it’s that consistency and commitment that helped me earn the trust of the right clients, the kind who value professionalism, honesty, and hard work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a Real Estate Broker, my expertise spans across various facets of the industry—but I’ve chosen to focus my energy on residential real estate.
That includes working with first-time homebuyers, seasoned investors, and developers alike. I find purpose in guiding clients through pivotal life decisions, whether it’s purchasing their first home or identifying the right investment opportunity.
Over the years, many of my referral clients have come to appreciate a key aspect of what I offer: my ability to tap into a strong, trusted network to uncover off-market opportunities—deals that many agents simply don’t have access to. In today’s market, clients place immense value on agents who go the extra mile to find exclusive properties that aren’t publicly listed, and that’s a space I’ve learned to navigate well.
What I’m most proud of is my relentless work ethic and the consistent way I approach my business—with professionalism, honesty, and care. I don’t see this as a sales job. To me, real estate is a relationship-driven business. The trust I build with my clients is everything, and I strive to earn that trust every single day.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer, a seasoned investor, or someone simply curious about real estate, I’m always open to having a conversation. I genuinely enjoy helping people navigate the buying and selling process, and even if you’re not ready to make a move, its a pleasure to be a resource.
For those looking to collaborate—whether you’re an agent, developer, or in a related field—I welcome opportunities to connect and explore how we can create value together. Real estate is a relationship business at its core, and I believe in building partnerships rooted in integrity and mutual respect.
And of course, referrals are one of the greatest forms of support. If you know someone who’s thinking about buying, selling, or investing in real estate, a personal introduction means the world to me. I approach every client with care, diligence, and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience from start to finish.
