Today we’d like to introduce you to Preet Kaur.
Hi Preet, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Jeremih 29:11 says, “For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” My life has been nothing short of this scripture. It has been a series of overcoming adversities with the power of resilience.
Being a brown woman in America with immigrant parents, I have seen that trust in yourself, in your life, in your purpose, and hard work can change your destiny. My father is the greatest epitome of that. He moved to this country not knowing a word of English and with very little money. He now speaks four languages, owns his own business, amongst other ventures, and continues to be the hardest-working man I know. My work ethic is what sets me apart and is what I believe to be my greatest attribute to success, which I have gotten from my father. I could go on a step-by-step “rant” as to how I’ve gotten to where I am, but I’ll keep it short and sweet.
“1. Be impeccable with your word, 2. Don’t take anything personal, 3. Don’t make assumptions, and 4. Always do your best.” – Miguel Ruiz
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t believe in smooth roads because I don’t believe in being on a road. I believe in flying. My struggles consisted of: overcoming generational curses and trauma, being the first in my family to attend university, being the black sheep of my family and pursuing a career outside of what was considered adequate, racism, sexism, battling mental health, ADHD, depression, high functioning anxiety, etc. Point is life can throw a lot at you, and it will.; but it’s not about that. GROW through what you GO through. Challenges don’t stop, but you have the opportunity to be better from them, to grow… to fly! Life isn’t comprised of just what’s in front of you, but you can only see once you take a leap of faith. Trust in yourself and in the source, no matter how dark it gets.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I am most proud of my heart. Despite the adversities that I have battled and overcome, I did not let that impact my ability to love. My greatest takeaway from it all has been that your heart will be shaped and reshaped, but in the end, it will still be yours. As human beings, we were blessed with the skill of adaptation. You will adapt.
My mind is what sets me apart from others. It’s very curious about the world, everyone and everything in it, and what makes people the way they are. I enjoy depth, stories, listening, silence, art, and all of that is what comprises the world and the human beings that occupy it. My mind is wondrous of everything, and that is what sets me apart. I understand that I do not understand, and therefore, I am a forever student of life. Always asking questions, learning, absorbing, inventing, creating, and growing.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising that most people who know me or my work/brand might not know about me are the variables and adversities that I have faced and overcome to be able to work at the caliber that I am today. When I first said I wanted to model and act to my loved ones, no one believed in me except for my best friend Dani. A lot of people expressed concern as well as doubt, but my best friend was always the one that believed in and encouraged my dreams consistently and intentionally. Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am today. She keeps me grounded and in tune with myself. I take pride in now having a circle of phenomenal and powerful women in my life. They are everything. Your circle has a great impact on your life. Iron sharpens iron, always be mindful of the energy that you allow into your space.
