Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Lemos.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello there! It’s been a great journey so far. My wife Lauren and I got married in 2014, and by the end of 2015 we opened Wax Paper. We have worked in restaurants our whole lives and made a decision to try and see if we could go into business for ourselves.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Making the transition from employee to business owner. As an owner you have to wear many hats and finding that balance has been difficult.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I think being able to have a sense of humor about everything helps a lot. You can’t take yourself too seriously. We have two sandwich shops now and are soon to open a full-service restaurant, Lingua Franca. I’m most proud of being able to maintain a great relationship with Lauren throughout everything. We can do so much together.
What’s next?
Well, our new restaurant is opening soon! It’s a long time coming but we feel prepared and ready for this new challenge.
