Today we’d like to introduce you to paul watts chintala.
Hi paul watts, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been into music since I was a little. My dad bought me some small drums when I was 10, started with that and I always thought guitars were cool. When I was seventeen, I started learning how to play the guitar by watching all these amazing guitarists on YouTube, including George Benson, Gurthrie Govan, John Mayer, and many more. I then started playing church gigs and gradually started playing at clubs and recording sessions. I always wanted to move to Los Angeles to pursue my music career and started with musicians institue hollywood, Later I began performing in local clubs like Whiskey A Go Go and Viper Room. At this point, I’m working on my own compositions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Well, the music industry is always difficult, especially, this place where there are many uncertainties about one’s ability to subsist on one’s own. Nevertheless, I’m doing fine here! hehe
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I play the electric guitar, which is probably my favorite instrument to play, but I can also play the bass and the keyboards. and produce music. I work as a freelancer most of the time and keep my self busy but I’ve also been in and out of a few good bands and i do play studio recording projects around LA and some indian projects
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
For the most part of my life, I’ve learned through watching videos on YouTube. There are many incredible musicians out there, and artists like John Mayer, George Benson, and gurthrie govan have inspired me greatly. However, growing up, church music undoubtedly had a big influence on me, and my older brother Isaac, who plays the piano, is someone I always looked up to and played with some amazing musicians along my journey
