Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Kara.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been working in the entertainment business for over thirty five years as an actress, model, spokesperson, and television personality. My career began in Chicago where I grew up and I worked internationally before moving to Florida, New York, and eventually Los Angeles. It has been a great ride through all aspects of the industry, and I would not change a single thing.
I’m very excited to also add author to the mix after writing and publishing my first book, “Dream on Now Deliver”. It is a comprehensive guide to help navigate all aspects of the entertainment business, regardless of experience level. I mixed in some personal stories to help emphasize that there is no better way to learn than to get in the fray and make things happen! One day after the launch, it reached #1 on Amazon’s Bestselling New Releases.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The entertainment business is a rollercoaster ride. There are ups and your downs, twists and turns. You learn to roll with it. With this business, there is a lot of rejection. You can’t take it personally. Sometimes it doesn’t have anything to do with you. There are so many factors that go into the decision-making process on casting. I have learned to just keep moving forward and stay focused. Persistence and dedication are key. And learn to trust your instincts!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m presently working on my second book, which will be about my experience on the #1 hit NBC show “Deal or No Deal”. This year is the 20th anniversary since the show debuted! As one of the only cast members to be on every version of the show, it is a detailed look behind the scenes of how a successful show comes together and adapts over time to entertain audiences all over the world!
