Life & Work with Paris Visone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Visone.

Hi Paris, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When I was 11, I was a super big fan of Hanson. I saw a segment of Entertainment Tonight where they followed them around for a day and did a photoshoot. I saw the photographer having fun with them, so that’s when it clicked in my head, I needed to become a photographer so I can hang out with Hanson. I started taking photos of my sister and cousins with a disposable camera, you know because it was 1999. I took photos continuously till I finally took classes in high school and then went to college for photography. After college, I landed my first on tour gig with the legendary band Blondie.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I truly feel that if you are nice and work hard, the road finds you. I’ve always absolutely loved what I do, so the “working hard” did not feel like work at all. Of course, you run into situations that are not ideal, but not all people are meant to be compatible. In these situations, the best course of action is to move on. I’ve been very fortunate to work with artists who value people.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a tour photographer. I also do videos. I specialize in documentary photography. It’s my true passion. But I also know what artists and fans want, so I shoot that too. Music videos, fun content that makes people’s day, and live photography that allows you to bring yourself back to that show you’ve waited months to see. I believe a big part of being a great tour photographer is being part of the team. A touring family is a very different beast than most jobs. You work together, you live together and you create together. It’s the most extreme and very special thing, and it’s not for everyone.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe you make your own luck. If you show up and show you have value, people will see that.
