Today we’d like to introduce you to Nylon Keies. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Nya Miller also known as Nylon Keies.
Starting as the Girl Group 3 Keies in 2017, NYLON along with sisters Faith and Jada, came together to make their own mark in music. NYLON KEIES has chosen to take the baton that was once being run in tandem with her sisters and continue the race they began together. Now a solo artist, NYLON hopes to take the momentum built up as a girl group (an anomaly in 2021) and push it to the top.
She’s worked with a plethora of talent within city limits and beyond (Antea Birchett (vocal coach for Nat Geo’s “ARETHA” with Cynthia Erivo), Marcus Devine (produces Destiny’s Child, Kelly Price, etc.) Mike Booner Actor/Comedian and radio host at 910 am.
NYLON, who is the youngest of the singing Miller sisters 3 Keies soon embarked on chasing the musical dream in their hometown of Detroit aka the Motor City aka Motown. Before long, they managed to make a small name for themselves due to their obvious talent, humility, and professionalism. The girls managed to touch many stages in and around Metropolitan Detroit. Performing at the storied Detroit Concert venue St. Andrews Hall as well as at Hart Plaza and 107.5 Detroit Music Festival among other performances. They specifically made it a point to perform at various charity events like Keep the schools safe .org, Police Field Day, and Children’s Hospital of Michigan for sick kids. And the Opioid summit. All while honing their skills as vocalists preparing themselves for their careers as Artists. Fast Forward 2021 the young 19-year-old Nylon Keies would be continuing the musical race on her own as a solo artist with her first performance being a magical tribute for late R&B singer Aaliyah which hit national headlines. After having the security of having her sisters by her side, it is expected to be challenging to refocus and repurpose things as a soloist. But it can also be Destiny calling.
On July 27th, 2022 Nylon Keies dropped her first single as a solo artist titled “AUTO DELETE” featuring Influencer/Rapper Semaj Lesley.
“I need to clear my head, It’s reached it max space..” is the beginning salvo issued by Young Vocalist NYLON KEIES on her 1st new bop “AUTO-DELETE”.
A mid-tempo joint that in its essence offers tech-speak to a situation we have all been through mentally. You just can’t take it anymore!! You gotta let it go!! I’ve reached my max!!
The Song offers an Afro Beat/ Caribbean style Rhythm track, With a sentimental piano groove that allows NYLON Keies and influencer/Rapper Semaj Lesley to ride over it with their own percolating delivery over the LARRIQUE produced groove. “Auto delete I no longer really need you. I was tricked by that mask that you see through..” sings the young vocalist. Make room on your playlist for this Summertime Vibe, I’m sure this is a vibe you definitely want to catch.
Nylon is currently on the Young Minds In Transition tour. YMTI is an organization dedicated to the development and empowerment of youth in the Greater Detroit area through media art performances. They expect to visit over 200 schools where she and others will perform and deliver motivational speeches.
Nylon video for Auto Delete ft. Semaj Lesley is dropping October 16th, 2022.
As a solo artist, she’s performed at many Crowdfreak events such as Henny and Hamburger and Scary Hours music festival. She’s opened up for lil Scrappy, Payroll and HBK Kid. She’s worked beside many established artists in Detroit, MI.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The transition from singing with my sisters to becoming a solo artist was emotionally difficult.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an R&B artist. I love music. I was born to sing. My entire family are singers. What are you most proud of? I’m proud of my growth and accomplishments. I set small goals and I’m so happy to reach them.
What sets you apart from others? My drive! I’m known as the girl that will sing to you within 5 minutes of meeting you. Lol Music is my introduction. In the dictionary, it should read that music is Nylon and Nylon is music. Lol.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Who else deserves credit? My family. My father is a singer so my sisters and I really look up to him. I’m inspired by him. I’m definitely a #girldad. My mother!! She’s my biggest supporter, always by my side helping me be the best version of myself. My sister writes most of my music and encourages me every day. They put their careers on hold for me and I feel like a lot of people don’t get to experience that type of love and sacrifice and for that, I’m overly grateful. But I can’t forget about my big brother who is constantly driving me around to get my hair done. I have so many people in my life that’s either giving me their time and services for free like my stylist, videographer and camera crew and those that has invested money into me. I’m super blessed.
