Life & Work with Natalie Ly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Ly.

Hi Natalie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had a passion for photography. I used to love developing film before digital cameras existed – taking pictures at school and then scanning and uploading it to my website. I was in yearbook in high school and always took the role of historian in every club I was in throughout college. I love food, I am always ready to check out new restaurants and also to help spread the word about small businesses. I started my food blog on Instagram during the pandemic in 2020 just as an outlet to post all my food photography. I was very surprised at the amount of engagement I received from the food community. Now I use it as a platform to promote small businesses. I have also started doing social media management for restaurants as well.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Food and photography are two things that I absolutely adore so none of it feels like work for me. I truly believe in the saying “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I hope that in the near future this can be a full time gig for me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work in Clinical Trials for Ophthalmology. I have been in the Ophthalmology field for over ten years now. Eyes are the window to the world so I believe in taking care of them as best you can.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is during elementary school every year for my birthday my parents would bring me a cake to share with the class, take photos and make sure I felt like the most special kid ever. I am grateful for them for everything they have done for me.
