Today we’d like to introduce you to Moriah Boone.
Hi Moriah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, my journey has been anything but linear! That’s one of the most important things I’ve learned throughout this process…that success doesn’t always look like you expect it to, and it certainly almost never feels the way that you anticipate it will.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
If the road had been smooth on the way to get to where I am now, I imagine I wouldn’t value it nearly as much. I have faced countless struggles and I think it’s a common misconception that individuals who attain success have done so without facing any kind of adversity.
This kind of thinking is very dangerous because not only does it foster a comparison and competition mindset, but it also gives you an excuse as to why you’re not reaching your own goals.
My struggle is unique to me just as anyone else’s would be, but I can say that my most consistent struggle has been family relationships and how they have affected my own self-concept.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
If I am honest, I’m simply an actress trying to solidify her brand and find her niche. I am, however, partial to accepting roles in romantic comedies and on the other end of the spectrum, horror films!
My most recent film, “You Promised” will officially be streaming on Shudder by January 2023 and TLC will be airing a personal story of mine on the new series, “My DNA Mystery” on December 28th, 2022, at 7 pm PST.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think the most surprising thing about me is where I came from. There’s a fair amount of adversity in my past and I’m very proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish despite all that.
I truly believe that there must be a fair amount of darkness or trauma in one’s past to fulfill certain roles as an actor or actress. Although our past negative experiences do not define us, how we choose to grow from them does.
It’s from this darkness that I draw my most raw inspiration and hope to have the opportunity to play more serious and prominent roles that allow me to tap into the power that is harnessing that trauma to create art.
