Today we’d like to introduce you to MikeFrom31st.
Hi MikeFrom31st, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Music was never a passion or a hobby of mine. Growing up in South Florida, all I ever knew was sports. Basketball was my passion. All I ever wanted was to play in the NBA. I got my first laptop freshman year of college. Being in a new state and not having friends at this new school yet, I was just bored. I opened my laptop and came across a program called GarageBand. From there, I began making beats on GB every day in my dorm. Not long after, I decided to take music seriously. I got FL Studio and from there, the rest is history.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being successful in the music industry comes with a lot of challenges. It is anything but a smooth road. Some struggles I have faced along the way were making connections with studios, producers, and artists in my area, continuing to chase the dream even when there was self-doubt, and generally, learning how to make beats, in the beginning, is also a struggle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I go by MikeFrom31st, and I am a music producer. I specialize in making beats, song/artist development, and audio engineering, but I am mostly known for making beats. I am most proud of the songs I have produced for some of my favorite artists. Being able to work with the artists I have will always be something I take pride in because I never forget where I started. What sets me apart from others? My drive. Simply just wanting to get better and try new things.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My personality is most important to my success. I only want to work with people that feel like family. There are billions of talented people in the world. To me, it all comes down to who is genuine. I do not want to work with someone I can’t vibe with or be comfortable around because now the music is forced. My personality is most important to my success because I always try to bring good energy. Being good energy helps you form a real relationship with the people you create with. Relationships keep you in the room.
