Life & Work with Michele Mignone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Mignone.

Hi Michele, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from the Central Coast of California but traveled quite a bit and lived in San Francisco, South Florida & Palm Springs through the years. Hospitality took me to many places…I started in this industry back in 2008 and combined my passions for alternative medicine and wellness with business and the hotel industry — paving the perfect career path for working in spas and hotels.

I have now assisted in opening five spas nationwide and then stayed on to manage them. I was thrilled to receive the opportunity to return to the Central Coast to assist with the design, overseeing construction, pre-opening, and opening of Spa Cerro starting back in the Summer of 2018.

Spa Cerro is very unique to the Central Coast. We offer approachable luxury and a refined variety of spa services in a beautiful full amenity spa setting. The theme of Spa Cerro is land and sea — seen woven through the design of the spa, the products chosen and the treatments that I created. Each guest receives a custom-tailored experience just for them. We pride ourselves on delivering a memorable experience for our guests.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the Spa Manager at Spa Cerro, located at Hotel Cerro in San Luis Obispo, CA. Inspired by the land and sea of California’s Central Coast, Spa Cerro provides a range of luxurious wellness options that capture the uniqueness of this region. Spa Cerro taps into the calming nature of the nearby Pacific Ocean with dim blue light features and water installations to create an oasis of relaxation, restoration, and rejuvenation — making it a lovely place to work.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Take care of your guests and your employees. Without your staff, you have no business. Do what’s best for them and the guest experience. Be prepared to dedicate your life to your work to have a chance of success. Stay committed to your integrity and ideals. You must be organized, AND most importantly — find time for self-care. ✨️
