I am Mayur Yadav, Clinical Pharmacist at Alta Care Pharmacy, Upland,CA. With over a decade of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist in the Healthcare industry, I have acquired a wealth of knowledge and expertise. My educational background includes a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA, and a Master’s Degree from Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY. I also Completed Bachelor of Pharmacy from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, India. Additionally, I hold the distinguished status of an Advanced Practice Pharmacist.
I started my journey in the field of pharmacy with a passion for helping others and ensuring that individuals receive the best possible treatment for their health needs. I am committed to staying updated with the latest developments in the pharmaceutical industry in order to provide the most effective and safe medications for our patients. I look forward to continuing to serve our community with the utmost professionalism and care.
After I completed Bachelor of Pharmacy from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, I came to the United States to pursue MS in Pharmaceutics from Long Island University. This program provided me with a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical science, drug delivery systems, and regulatory affairs. Through rigorous coursework and hands-on research projects, I developed a deep knowledge of drug development processes and the principles of pharmaceutical formulation. My education has equipped me with the necessary skills to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical technologies and to address the challenges within the industry.
As I completed MS in Pharmaceutics , I got hired as Formulation Scientist in Medcore Pharma, Somerset, NJ. As a Formulation Scientist, my role involves developing and optimising formulations for various products. This includes conducting research, analysing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development of new formulations. I am responsible for designing experiments, interpreting results, and making recommendations for improvements. Additionally, I stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in formulation technology to continually enhance our product offerings. My work as a Formulation Scientist requires a high level of attention to detail, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of chemistry and material science principles.
During my work as a Formulation Scientist, whatever I learned in Master’s, I am applying that practical knowledge in my work. One day, I was thinking about gaining clinical knowledge of all the drugs. During my research , I realised that the Doctor of Pharmacy Program in the United States will only equip me with clinical knowledge of the drugs. So I decided to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy and I started gathering all the documents to submit applications for the PharmD Program. Luckily, I got accepted in Doctor of Pharmacy Program at Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA. As a Doctor of Pharmacy, I have acquired extensive experience in the field of pharmaceutical care, medication therapy management, clinical pharmacology and patient counselling. My expertise includes conducting medication reviews, evaluating drug interactions, and providing recommendations to optimise therapeutic outcomes. I am dedicated to staying current with the latest developments in pharmacotherapy and utilising evidence-based practice to ensure the highest standard of patient care. My experience has equipped me with the skills to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals and patients, ultimately contributing to the safe and effective use of medications.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as a distinguished Advanced Practice Pharmacist for the CA Board of Pharmacy, participating in adjudicating for Globee and hackathons, and receiving the esteemed Best Research Supervisor Award. These accolades serve as a testament to my unwavering commitment to excellence in Healthcare development and research. I am dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the Pharmacy field, and I am proud to have made significant contributions to the field.
As a Clinical Pharmacist at Alta Care Pharmacy , Our clinical project in pharmacy aims to improve patient care and medication management through evidence-based practice and research. We are dedicated to evaluating the safety and efficacy of medications, optimising drug therapy, and promoting medication adherence. Our team collaborates with healthcare providers to develop protocols and guidelines for medication use, and we strive to advance the field of pharmacy through innovative research and education. Our ultimate goal is to enhance patient outcomes and contribute to the overall quality of healthcare delivery.
In my overall journey in pharmacy, I have gained valuable experience and expertise in various aspects of pharmaceutical practice. From studying the fundamental principles of pharmacology and medicinal chemistry to gaining practical experience in dispensing medications and counselling patients, my journey has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical field. I have also stayed abreast of the latest developments in drug research and regulatory requirements, allowing me to contribute to the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care. My journey in pharmacy has been both challenging and rewarding, and I am committed to continuing to grow and contribute to the advancement of the clinical pharmacy field.

In the pharmacy field, there are various obstacles and challenges that professionals encounter. These may include regulatory changes, such as new laws and guidelines that impact the way medications are dispensed and managed. Additionally, the increasing complexity of pharmaceutical treatments and therapies presents a challenge in staying updated with the latest information and best practices. Other challenges may include medication shortages, patient adherence to prescribed regimens, and the need to balance cost-effective solutions with providing high-quality care. Overall, navigating these obstacles requires a combination of expertise, adaptability, and a commitment to ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.

Apart from being a Registered Pharmacist, I became Advanced Practice Pharmacist. In order to meet the requirements for an advanced practice pharmacist, individuals must complete advanced training and education beyond the basic requirements for licensure. This may include obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, completing a pharmacy residency, and obtaining board certification in a specialised area of practice. Additionally, advanced practice pharmacists are often required to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, medication management, and evidence-based practice. It is essential for advanced practice pharmacists to stay current with the latest developments in pharmaceutical care and to continually enhance their knowledge and skills in order to provide the highest level of care to patients.. I completed Advanced Practice pharmacist in Medication Therapy Management, Congestive Heart Failure and Geriatric Medicine. That’s the main proud moment in my life.
As an Advanced practice pharmacists set themselves apart from others through their specialised training and expertise in medication management. By obtaining advanced certification and additional clinical experience, I am able to provide a higher level of patient care, including medication therapy management, collaborative drug therapy management, and the ability to prescribe medications in certain states. This advanced level of practice allows me to take on more complex cases, work closely with other healthcare providers, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. My unique skill set and knowledge make them valuable members of the healthcare team, contributing to more comprehensive and personalised care for patients.
What were you like growing up?
As a Clinical Pharmacist, my upbringing greatly influenced my personality and interests. Growing up, I was always curious and had a thirst for knowledge, which led me to develop a strong interest in the sciences and healthcare. I was known for being detail-oriented, analytical, and empathetic, traits that have served me well in my career. My passion for helping others and making a positive impact on people’s lives started at a young age and has only grown stronger over the years. I was also drawn to problem-solving and critical thinking, which are essential skills in the field of pharmacy. Overall, my upbringing shaped me into the dedicated and compassionate Clinical Pharmacist that I am today.
