Life & Work with Mariana Pereira Budal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Pereira Budal.

Mariana Pereira Budal

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Mariana Budal; I’m a Brazilian model, actress, songwriter, and content creator who lives in LA. Since I was kid, I came from a very artistic background, I took dance, painting and theater classes. I came to LA to learn English and make music. I share my life with my Brazilian followers daily via Instagram.

I lost my mom when I was five, I stayed in foster care til I was 18, my adopted grandma helped me make my way to LA to follow my dreams. I always felt like I belonged somewhere else, and LA is where I feel at home! I wouldn’t change a thing! I always loved music, I write poetry and songs since I started writing… I used to perform, sing, dance, act in school plays and my church growing up! I loved the stage, I felt like that’s what I wanted to do growing up. I am very happy to where I am now! I do modeling since I moved to LA! And one thing led to another! I’ve been doing music videos, some small acting gigs here and there! But the my main passion is music! I feel like I’m ready to put some music out sometime soon! I worked as a nanny for a few years and now I’m a personal assistant for a movie writer/ director! I can get to see the behind-the-scenes and the creative process before everything is done! I had so many ups and downs! But I always had my back, and I always believed that I would make it! I’m comfortable being my truly authentic self, and that’s what makes me different and probably stand out a bit! I know what I want, and I work so hard to make it happen! I love networking and going to events! Meeting people who have the same passion and vision!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not really! It’s been lots of ups and downs! Music is not an easy thing. You gotta know who you are and be true to yourself! It’s a very competitive place. Same thing about modeling or acting! You gotta believe in yourself! I try my best to keep a positive mindset even when it gets hard sometimes. LA is the land of dreams, and there’s lots of talented artists out there! You just got to believe you are special and keep fighting for what you believe!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I work with social media! I have done modeling since I got to LA. I started with modeling, and it kind of led me into acting and music! What sets me apart from others is my personality! I know who I am, and I love being my own person! I love Dressing the way I want! I am a very creative person, and I love art, I am most happy when I’m doing something that makes me express myself and create something unique! I can paint, make clothes, do poetry! But What I’m most proud is my music. Songs I write for me or other people! How one thing I write can resonates with people and how we all can connect through music!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Don’t be afraid of being yourself! Be your own individual! Don’t try to be someone you’re not, even in your art! My advice is network! Try to meet people and stick with people who have the same goals, interests as you! Smile talk with everybody at parties or events! You never know who you might meet! I met so many talented people, and I love connecting and creating music, art, and content with them!
