Life & Work with Marcel Ramirez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcel Ramirez.

Hi Marcel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Palm Springs, CA. I grew up in a South American home, where panqueque’s (aka crepes) were a weekly tradition. We would eat them in every way possible: breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner. Years later, I had the opportunity to call San Francisco my home. Here is where I began to experience the art and taste of unique savory crepes. After having experience in the food industry from an early age, my wife and I decided to move back home we knew we wanted start our own Creperie with a South American twist. That is when Gabino’s was born.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Converting a studio apartment into a commercial kitchen, city guidelines. Employment through a pandemic.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Serving savory crepes out of a window in a back alley.

I am most proud of our product and the creativity behind it.

Any big plans?
Expansions coming 2022, and growing into more cities and areas.
