Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorena Cacciatore.
Hi Lorena, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Sanando Corazones was born in 2016 after seeing the need for advocates to compassionately help women and children trapped in domestic violence home situations and walk alongside them in their journey to physical and emotional healing.
Sanando Corazones is dedicated to serving women and children in Southern California through bilingual education, support groups, one-on-one counseling, court advocacy, case management, community outreach, and resources both in English and Spanish.
We strive for culture change in the low-economic and indigent populations offering support and compassion to victims of domestic violence and their children and women in other crisis situations.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Its been a difficult road to obtain funding to continue to keep our doors open. We have no funding through our local community leaders. But have the satisfaction to continue working with families that have been impacted by Domestic Violence and give them hope and complete confidentiality…

Lorena founded Sanando Corazones in 2016 after working in the mental health field as a DV counselor, case manager, addiction specialist, and community educator for over 20 years within the Greater Los Angeles area. Her professional expertise, personal experiences and faith-based core values offer uniqueness to a much-needed organization, bringing compassion, understanding, and personalized attention to every case involving domestic violence and other crisis situations where women and children’s safety is in jeopardy.
A team of part-time counselors and volunteers led by Lorena provides follow-up and support to the victims and their families to help them heal and restore their lives.
We strive to provide compassion when dealing to help women, men and children through the difficult process of Domestic Violence. To assist with their needs in navigating the Family & Juvenile court system, social services Child Support Services, etc… We offer compassionate help for these families well providing complete confidentiality.

Los Angeles offers versatility. I was born and raised in the city of Angeles. Love it would not want to live anywhere else. We have everything here beautiful beaches, mountains, dessert, etc.
The homeless situation is so difficult to see it all over the city now. So many families impacted by COVID
loss of employment etc.
