Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Haug
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my platform 5 years ago. I was yearning for something else in my life. I had been teaching for over 20 years, married with 3 children and needed a creative outlet that I was excited about. I have always loved fashion, shopping, and styling others. At the time I started Fabfirstfinds I was teaching first grade, hence the name. I am no longer teaching first grade but have kept the name. My platform started very rudimentarily. I shared deals I found. I made a point to go to local businesses to befriend them and also share their pieces. These connections are still strong today and was a great avenue for growing my platform. I then joined LTK, an affiliate app, where I can link pieces for my followers to shop. I so enjoy sharing my love for shopping and fashion with others. I have made many connections and have also made some money as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road but rather a rollercoaster of sorts. Some of my struggles along the way would include growing my account and not letting my failures affect me in a negative way. It is very easy to get caught up in the ups and downs of reach and engagement, as well as, comparing yourself to others. I have learned many good lessons.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a teacher who shares affordable fashion, style ideas, and beauty with a dose of reality. I think one of the things that sets me apart is that I have not seen other influencers who are teachers over 50. I am proud of teaching for over 28 years, raising 3 kids, surviving breast cancer. having a beautiful marriage for 30 years, and sharing a passion of mine with others.
What matters most to you? Why?
Family of course. Why, because family means the world to me.
