Life & Work with Lina Love of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lina Love

Hi Lina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born in LA, and raised in Las Vegas, I grew up obsessed with music and preforming. I was instantly inspired by many various genres of music, and was in multiple dance classes, figure skating, piano and theater. By the time I graduated High School in 2012 I’d begun playing guitar on the Las Vegas Strip and modeling. After turning 18 I was almost immediately introduced to the Adult Industry where I became a relatively well-known girl on girl only actress. There I was able to make enough money for my first apartment and after 4 or so years I left the adult industry to pursue my music career whole-heartedly. Some things stunted me for several years while trying to find my footing in LA.
One day, over the summer of 2020 I was introduced to a friend who helped me start my band Glass Kitten. For the last four years we’ve gotten more and more opportunities to preform as well as recording and releasing. I’m currently in search of management and anyone believes that Glass Kitten is ready for festival stages.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been smooth sailing, I’ve run into a handful of set-backs and even some troublesome situations. I’m happy to say I’ve made it through and despite all of the new challenges I’ve faced in the past and that I face currently with building my brand, making content, paying bills, and recording and writing. I intend to keep fighting to get my music out there.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer-songwriter, the lead guitarist and front-woman of my band Glass Kitten. I specialize in taking my pain and my life experience and turning it into music. I love telling stories, and painting a picture while evoking emotions people tend to overlook. I think my compassionate nature is what sets me apart from everyone else, even though my music isn’t quite as soothing, I feel people on a deep level. And I think once people get to know me they realize that I can see and almost feel their pain at times. I write because I want to be understood and I want others to feel understood and seen through my musical lens. To know their anger, angst and sadness are valid feelings that they should express and work through in a safe, cathartic way. I can’t tell you how many times Linkin Park, Hole, and Nine Inch Nails saved me from some of the most stressful or sad times. I owe it to them for making me into who I am today.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel like being genuine, tenacious, and honest are some of the most important things along with being flexible and being able to pivot at a moments notice. Even when things aren’t going my way, keeping a level head is everything when you’re responsible for the band and ultimately your performance.
