Today we’d like to introduce you to Lateef Bridgewater.
Hi Lateef, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music for me has something I’ve always been around, a grew up in a musical family so it’s been something I’ve seen myself doing since I was young. Up until the age of 13, I was picking up different instruments not really sure where I wanted to go with learning music but just knew I wanted to make songs. 2014 was the year I got my first computer and I got into FL Studio; that’s when I realized what I wanted to be
It took me four years of learning the production until I actually decided id try to write and record something around 2018, from then it’s stuck with me and it’s grown into now a collective of artists, producers, songwriters, designers and so much more.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say smooth of course I deal with the everyday starving artist like everyone else, trying to make ends meet while keeping optimistic telling myself the journey is worth it. I think my biggest challenge was overcoming my own doubts and convincing myself that this was worth working towards.
When you keep like-minded people with the same goals and ambitions as you, it makes the thought of creating second nature.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a producer/rapper, what’s most special about me is I love to unify. I want everyone to get a piece, I want my friends and family to have a contribution and the people who support me I want them to be able to have an outside view and be able to realize what we can build not looking for a record deal or a fancy studio.
I’m most proud of all I’ve done just off the love of music, art, and good people.
What makes you happy?
A good movie, a good movie can solve all my problems it’s just an escape from the real world I can relax and enjoy something outside of my world
