Hi Kim, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been deeply passionate about design. Back in 2011, I earned my Art degree, marking the beginning of my journey into the world of design. Initially, I embarked on this path at a small agency nestled in the picturesque Lake Tahoe area.
Six years ago, my husband Branden and I made a decision to pursue our dream of living by the beach, leading us to Newport Beach. At that point I took a bold step and established Earp Creative, a website and graphic design business. Since then, it’s been a rewarding journey of hard work and dedication, as I’ve strived to carve out my niche and build a solid reputation.
Networking and community involvement have been pivotal in the growth of Earp Creative. By actively engaging with organizations like BNI, I’ve been fortunate to cultivate a client base built solely on referrals. It’s truly heartening to collaborate with clients who share my values and entrust me with their projects time and again.
The joy of parenthood entered our lives when my husband and I welcomed our son, Jude Earp, in March 2022. Balancing the responsibilities of motherhood with running a business has been both challenging and immensely fulfilling. I’m committed to providing Jude with the best possible upbringing while pursuing my passion for design.
At the core of my work ethic lies a commitment to innovation, care, and inspiration. I’m driven by a desire to constantly evolve and stay ahead of the curve in design trends. This dedication ensures that I deliver nothing short of excellence to my clients, every step of the way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my journey, I’ve encountered various experiences, each with its own set of challenges and triumphs. Transitioning to a new area and starting afresh presented obstacles in forming connections and gaining trust within the community. However, I’ve come to realize the importance of remaining proactive and consistently engaging with new individuals to foster growth within my business.
Adding to this, becoming a mother introduced a whole new dimension to my life. Balancing the responsibilities of parenthood alongside operating a full-time graphic design business posed its difficulties. Nevertheless, I’ve been fortunate to have understanding and supportive clients throughout this journey. This experience has deepened my appreciation for the delicate balance between work and personal life, showing me how they can complement each other.

Any big plans?
I am deeply committed to continual growth, both in my career and personal life. My ambition is to continually expand my business, setting new benchmarks in design excellence that enhance the brands of businesses. Additionally, I am eager to increase my engagement among fellow professionals in the Orange County area, continue serving at our church and become involved in the community.
Outside of work, my husband and I cherish our shared love for travel, attending Angels Baseball games, and spending time at the beach. I am excited to introduce our son to these passions, and create new adventures for our family.
