Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Park.
Hi Kayla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Everything fell into place so quickly, and I’m so proud of where we have come 🙂
I wanted to start a car team, one that I always wanted. I was part of a team but I didn’t feel heard, or included so I wanted to build a foundation to change that!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
To be honest, it was a struggle. I didn’t even know where to start. There is just so much more behind the scenes than I ever even imagined.. trying to build a team from scratch was probably one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. I am fairly shy, and it takes a lot for me to try to go out of my way to make small talk. I guess you can say I have very high anxiety. Once having a solid group of individuals, everything became much more easier
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the president of my own car team. We call ourselves Ikigai Society. Ikigai is the Japanese concept for your reason for being, it’s our love for cars that bring us together, but our personalities that bond us. We have created a group that is so much more than just a car team, we are a family. We don’t have crazy modification rules or very harsh on who makes it and who doesn’t. We care more for a person with chill vibes rather than strangers who don’t click with us at all. Because everyone gets along so well, I’m so proud at how fast our team has grown as well as us priding ourselves rolling deep to events. Again, it’s about the people.. so even if someone’s car is down, they still find ways to represent the team and they show up anyways. Since we always roll deep, we make it a point. To roll into the meets all together. Together we are stronger 🥰
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Our city has some of the most incredible views ever! We don’t have don’t have to go far to catch a sunset or good
