Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Pervak.
Hi Kate, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My first shoot was with a couple of friends on the rooftop; I was so inspired by one video and wanted to create something similar. First experience was pretty successful, and it definitely inspired me to move forward. There were few things in videography that I really loved – people with their stories and music. Combining this two elements, using my imagination – led me to creating videos that I liked.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say that there is two sides of videography One is very intuitive I would say, you feel the moment, feel emotions, there is some inner feeling that gives an understanding that this is the right moment for this specific angle or that this music composition would be the best. Another side is pretty technical – and this is something that was not always easy for me, at the beginning I struggled a lot with programs for editing, I learned them, but that was definitely not my strong side, I had to learn a lot. Now, of course, having all this moments of learning behind, I fully enjoy all the process – from shooting till the final touch ups.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My favorite part of wedding videography is to be with couple in their most happy day, capture this special moments, share their emotions (yes, I cried so many times during vows and speeches).
